505 Dr. Nathan S. Bryan

Jeffrey Feldberg: [00:00:00] What if a molecule that holds the key to longevity, performance and healing isn't a pill and instead it's the air you breathe, the food you eat, and the science we've barely understood.

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan is one of the world's leading experts on nitric oxide, a tiny fleeting molecule with huge implications for human health As a biochemist and molecular medicine pioneer, he has spent over two decades charting at how our bodies produce use and restore this critical signal showing that nitric oxide isn't just a gas, it's a master regulator.

His research has led to many patented technologies, clinical stage therapies for chronic disease and breakthrough nutraceutical innovations.

He's the author of The Secret of Nitric Oxide, a book that translates complex biochemistry into a practical roadmap for wellbeing, Dr. Bryan's mission, to put this miracle molecule into the hands of everyone, not just a science, but as a practical lever for healing, [00:01:00] aging, and thriving.

If your curiosity is peaked by what your body could do when its signaling systems are restored, this conversation will change forever how you think about health.

And before we start this episode, a quick word from our sponsor, Deep Wealth and the 90 Day Deep Wealth Mastery Program. Here's Jane, a graduate who says, and I quote, the Deep Wealth Mastery Program prevented me from making what would have been one of the biggest mistakes of my career. I almost signed on the dotted line with an unsolicited offer that I now realized would have shortchanged my hard work and my future had I accepted that offer. Deep Wealth Mastery has tilted the playing field to my advantage.

Or how about Lyn? Wow, he gets right to the point, and I quote, Deep Wealth Mastery is one of the best investments ever made because you'll get an ROI of a hundred times that. Anyone who doesn't go through this will lose millions.

And as you're listening to these testimonials, are you wondering if you have the time? Are you even thinking that you've got this covered, you have the advisors or people in your network? Well, I got to tell you, [00:02:00] these myths, they're often behind the 90 percent failure rate for liquidity events. Think about it. You have one chance to get it right for your financial freedom. You really want to make it count.

And when it comes to time, let's hear what William has to say. We just got in this testimonial, William says, and I quote, I didn't have the time for Deep Wealth Mastery. But I made the time and I'm glad I did. What I learned goes far beyond any other executive program or coach I've experienced.

So what do you think?

As I hear that, that's exactly what gets me out of bed every day. That's my mission. That's the team's mission here at Deep Wealth to literally change the social fabric of society. One business owner at a time, one liquidity event at a time, and my Deep Wealth Nation, what I want you to know, the Deep Wealth Mastery Program, it isn't theory.

It's from the trenches. It's the only one based on a nine figure deal. And that deal, that was my deal. You know my story. I said no to a seven figure offer. I created the system that later on, myself and my business partners, we said yes to a different buyer, a [00:03:00] different offer, a nine figure deal. That's what we now call the Deep Wealth Mastery Program or the Scale For Ultimate Sales system.

It's built by business owners, for business owners, so if you're interested in growing your profits for preparing for a future liquidity event, and that may be two years away, it could be 22 years away, whatever the time may be, you want to do this now, and you want to optimize your post exit life, Deep Wealth Mastery is for you.

Deep Wealth Nation. Welcome to another episode of the Deep Wealth Podcast Well, Deep Wealth Nation, as you know here at Deep Wealth, we say that health is our first wealth.

So if you're open and honest with yourself, and I know you are, how is your health?

How are you doing? How's your energy level?

How are you feeling?

We have a very special guest in the House of Deep Wealth. You heard the official introduction. We have a fellow entrepreneur, a doctor, a scientist, a thought leader, an author, you name it all there. Who's going to walk us through what you really need to know, but you probably don't. [00:05:00] So that said, Dr. Bryan, welcome to the Deep Wealth Podcast

It's an absolute pleasure to have you with us. You have quite the story, and there's always a story behind the story. So what's your story? What got you from where you were to where you are today?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Well, thanks Jeff. It's great to be with you and thanks for having me on the podcast. Just like any life, any career it's, been a journey. I'm just a small town, country boy in Texas. I, grew up in, pretty much in poverty, my parents were respectable middle class people, although we didn't have a lot of things growing up.

And I went to University of Texas, got a degree in biochemistry. From there, I went to LSU School of Medicine and. Shreveport got a PhD in molecular cellular physiology. I trained up in Boston at Boston Medical Center and then, I was, had my first faculty position as a professor of molecular medicine at UT Health Science Center in Houston.

But you know, make a long story short, I got into this field of nitric oxide. It's a very important molecule produced in the human body. In fact, one of the most important molecules produced, made a lot of discoveries fought a lot of patents. And over the course of the past, 15, 20 years I've started a number of companies and today I've built a portfolio [00:06:00] of companies with an enterprise value well over a billion dollars.

Jeffrey Feldberg: That's incredible. And as you're looking back through that journey, Dr. Bryan, sometimes we look back and we connect the dots where we never saw it beforehand as we're going through it, what would be the common theme as you look back at what you've achieved, the different companies that you have, how you're helping people?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Well, I think it's what we call in Texas true grit. It's really just this insatiable, desire to keep going despite the opposition, despite the hurdles, despite people telling you, what you're trying to do is impossible. It can't be done. It's never been done. Before, but just believing in what we were doing, believing in the science that we'd discovered, and then just taking that and putting my head down and keep moving forward.

But I think that's the recipe for success, not just for me, but I think for anybody who's had true success. It's true grit.

Jeffrey Feldberg: I'm absolutely with you there. As a guy who started in his parents' home, not the basement, but the attic and failing forward, no money experience or team. It was the grit that got me through day every day as I literally failed forward. So I'm right. There with [00:07:00] you. And by the way, Deep Wealth Nation, please go to the show notes and there'll be a number of resources there.

One of them is Dr. Bryan's book, the Secret of Nitric Oxide, bringing The Science to Life. So Dr. Bryan for Deep Wealth Nation, who's probably heard of nitric oxide, but that's likely the extent of it. Why don't we start with the basics. Why is nitric oxide so important? What's going on with that in the body and in ourselves?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: That's the story I tell in the book, the Secret of Nitric Oxide. But it's a molecule. It's a gasp that's produced in the lining of the blood vessels. It dilates the blood vessels, improves tissue oxygenation normalizes blood pressure, regulates blood flow to the sex organs, and it regulates things like erectile function.

It regulates blood flow to the brain. So we can. Recall memory and have proper executive function. It dilates blood vessels to the heart, the skeletal muscles so we can perform. And, everything we know about human optimization is dependent upon the body's ability to produce nitric oxide, but it's, it also tells our stem cells to [00:08:00] mobilize and differentiate.

It activates an enzyme called telomerase and prevents our telomeres from shortening. The science is clear now that shorter telomeres, shorter lifespan, longer telomeres, longer lifespan, and then it activates our mitochondria, the energy producing organelles of the cell. So what we've learned over the past 30 years is that the ability to produce nitric oxide actually predicts your health how well you can perform as a human and predicts your longevity, how long you can live free of disease.

Jeffrey Feldberg: So it's fundamental in terms of our overall health. By the way, Deep Wealth Nation and Dr. Bryan, you can correct me if I'm on base or off base with this. I'm not sure. Deepp Nation, have you heard of a drug out there? I don't know. Probably not. It's a kind of obscure called Viagra,

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: That's right.

Jeffrey Feldberg: If you have, of course you have and Dr. Bryan, you can tell us the straight goods in this Viagra and nitric oxide have a lot going on together to get those kinds of results. What thoughts about that on.

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: These are what we call phosphorate inhibitors, which are [00:09:00] drugs like Viagara. They were first developed to dilate the blood vessels because they're what they call vasodilators, but they potentiate the effects of nitric oxide. So these drugs were first investigated for pulmonary hypertension or heart disease, but quickly realized that the patients who were getting this were experiencing much better erections, especially the men.

So then they abandoned the heart and, lung drugs and went for an erectile. Dysfunction claim. But here's what we know. These drugs were first approved on the market in 1998. So these drugs have been on the market for more than 25 years, but yet they only work in 50% of the men in which they're prescribed.

And mechanistically, we can understand and we can explain why they're people that do not respond to Viagra. It's because Viagra is the pi. The action of Viagra is dependent upon the body's ability to produce nitric oxide. So nitric oxides produce, we say, that turns on the switch. And Viagra keeps the switch on, but without nitric oxide, there is no switch to turn on.

So Viagra can't keep it on. So the people who are non-responsive to Viagra, it's because their body's not making enough nitric oxide. And now what [00:10:00] we've been able to demonstrate both scientifically and clinically. That if we give nitric oxide to restore the production of nitric oxide, now we can make Viagra work, or more importantly, we can make it more effective.

So now you can titrate down the dosing of these drugs, make them more safe, but also more effective. Or best case scenario, which is my goal in medicine is to repair endogenous systems to the extent that you don't need drug therapy. We can dilate the blood vessels and improve sexual function in both men and women just by giving nitric oxide and eliminate the need for drugs like PDE5 inhibitors,

Jeffrey Feldberg: Dr. Bryan, I'm with you right there. If we don't have to take prescriptions with the side effects and the costs that go along with that, both physical as well as monetary, why not? Why not let the body do what it should be doing? And it's a great segue of. Well, why isn't the body doing what it should be doing?

What's been going on the past while that we're not having that optimal nitric oxide production and response that has us in peak health?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Well, to answer that question, we first had to [00:11:00] understand how the human body makes nitric oxide. because if you don't understand how the human body makes it, then we, it's really difficult to get an understanding of what leads to the loss of its natural production. So once we understood how the human body makes nitric oxide, then we start to think, okay, what's disrupting the natural production?

What's causing the enzyme and the lining and the blood vessels to become dysfunctional?

And then we discovered, there's bacteria that live in and on our body that are producing nitric oxide.

So what's causing dysbiosis in disrupting that natural nitric oxide production?

So we'll take those step by step. The enzyme is, very complex, complicated biochemical reaction. So things like a high carbohydrate, high sugar diet completely render this enzyme dysfunctional. Anything that causes inflammation, oxidative stress renders that enzyme dysfunctional environmental toxicants, then we look at the bacteria in the mouth.

We know that things like fluoride, fluoride in the drinking water, fluoride in the toothpaste, antiseptic mouthwash. Two outta three Americans use mouthwash every day. And two outta three Americans have an unsafe elevation in blood pressure. And [00:12:00] then the other big contributor to this are anac acids.

The proton pump inhibitors, things like the Prilosec, the, Prevacid, Nexium, omeprazole, these drugs completely shut down nitric oxide production. It's, and it's leading to about a 40% increase in heart attack, stroke, and Alzheimer's.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Okay, so there's a lot going on there, but to me it sounds like what some people would call modern life, which.

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: It's being an American.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Right. It's not necessarily the best thing going for us. So with all of that said, if we're not in the best situation when it comes to nitric oxide, we're breathing the air, we're eating the foods, we're drinking the water, perhaps we're not paying a lot of attention to it.

It sounds as though, for starters, let's begin to watch what we drink, watch what we eat. Let's go back to Whole Foods and things that are less processed to begin to get that going. Is the body damage though. So if I've been going along this path of just living the American dream, having the American life and all the things that come along with that, the things that I want, also, the things that, that I don't want, particularly on the health side.

How does the body begin to repair and heal itself to get back to that optimum level, that [00:13:00] optimum health?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Well, the beauty of the human body is it's regenerative by nature. And so if we give the body what it needs removed from the body, what it doesn't need, the body heals itself. And that's the beauty of Human body's much smarter. Than any doctor scientist or anyone out there. So sometimes we just gotta get outta the way.

And the beauty of what we've been able to do with nitric oxide, we can see the complete regression and reversal of disease. So what I tell people is, look, I think in every disease process there, there comes a point of no return. But for most people, if you listen to your body and take corrective measures, you can completely reverse the course.

So I tell people let's stop doing the things that are disrupting nitric oxide production, and then let's start doing the things that have clinically proven to activate and stimulate it. So again, we have to get rid of fluoride in our toothpaste, bio home filtration system. Remove the fluoride if it's in your drinking water.

You have to stop using mouthwash, anything that's antiseptic. And if you're on antacids, you must wean off of these anac acids and you've gotta stop eating anything that causes an increase in blood sugar. Continuous glucose monitors are readily available. But [00:14:00] get them and see what's leading to an increase in an elevation of blood sugar because if it's increasing your blood sugar, it's decreasing nitric oxide production. And by the way, that's cost savings, we're eliminating things. But then once you do that, you've released the breaks on the body's ability to produce nitric oxide. Now we can do moderate physical exercise.

We used to say 20, 30 minutes of moderate physical exercise a day. But now there's data showing that just six to eight minutes of high intensity interval training. Increased heart rate. Increased breath rate stimulates nitric oxide production. We can do nasal breathing. Mouth breathing is extremely dangerous.

The mouth is not an instrument for breathing. It's not part of our respiratory system, so we shouldn't be breathing through our mouth. Nasal breathing can increase nitric oxide production, lower blood pressure, and match ventilation to profusion, improve oxygenation. And then the other thing is 20 to 30 minutes of sunlight a day.

Certain wavelengths of light can stimulate the release of nitric oxide. And then the biggie for me is intermittent fasting, an 18 hour fast every day, completely reset your metabolism, and then a [00:15:00] balanced diet in moderation. And really that's a very simple recipe. And as I've mentioned it's cost savings because we're eliminating things that cost us money,

Jeffrey Feldberg: It's simple, it's free, it's accessible to everyone. It's not a popular narrative though that we're going to hear out there, especially with big pharma. And I'm not going to go down that whole path of why they have a vested interest, not for healthcare, but for sick care. And by the way, Deep Wealth Nation, everything that Dr.

Bryan and I are talking about, it's simply our opinions. It's too old friends just having a conversation. Anything that you do when it comes to your health please check with a medical professional, your doctor or someone in that arena who can give you the proper medical device that you need.

So let's begin to dispel some myths. So for starters, my sense is it's almost like that saying a frog in boiling water, whereas our health begins to deteriorate over time. It happens so slowly, we don't even notice it until one day we wake up and there's aches and there's pains. Memory, fog, and I have loss of energy.

What would be some typical [00:16:00] signs of, okay, my nitric oxide, the production is not where it should be and it's not at the optimal body levels that I would want it to be at. What would I be feeling, seeing, hearing?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Look we've been able to, chronicle this over time. There's a hierarchy of symptoms that manifest as a result of the steadily decline in nitric oxide production. And our body always talks to us. We have to listen and people get sick and die because they don't listen to their body. So this is very important.

So the first sign and symptom is usually erectile dysfunction, what we call sexual dysfunction, because this isn't just a male problem, this is a female issue. Because if you can't produce nitric oxide to dilate the blood vessels of the sex organs, we develop erectile dysfunction. Or for women to orgasm, for example, the hemodynamics of female orgasms are very well elucidate.

You have to have an increase in pressure in the clitoris, in the labia, and that pressure comes from an increase in volume. That volume comes from an increase in vasodilation, which comes from an increased production of nitric oxide. So if the blood vessels can't make nitric oxide, you don't get dilation, you don't get engorgement, you don't get pressure, [00:17:00] don't get the volume and you don't get the pressure.

So women become an orgasmic, they lose the lubrication. Their libido goes down. And same thing happens in men. So if you have what we call endothelial dysfunction, which means that the endothelial cells in the vascular bed of the sex organs can't produce nitric oxide. It's not just isolated to that region.

You have that same dysfunction in the blood vessels of the heart, the brain, the liver, the kidney. It's now a systemic disease, but it manifests first because we have to dilate the blood vessels on demand when we're stimulated and when we're intimate. And if we can't make nitric oxide, then we develop sexual dysfunction.

So, and we call that the canary in the coal mine. And number two, we start to see an increase in blood pressure. ' cause nitric oxide. When your body makes nitric oxide, it dilates the blood vessels. So now we've got, a same a finite volume of blood going through more dilated blood vessels.

So pressure is normal. If we lose the ability to produce nitric oxide, our blood vessels become chronically constricted. Now that same volume of blood is going through smaller pipes and pressure increases. These are simple laws of [00:18:00] physics and two outta three Americans have an unsafe elevation in blood pressure.

Number three, we start to get metabolic disease, insulin resistance, and 93% of Americans are metabolically unfit because the cell has to make nitric oxide in order for insulin to do its job. Without nitric oxide, the cell becomes resistant to insulin. And then number four, we start to develop exercise intolerance.

If we get short of breath going up a flight of steps or we can't maintain an exercise regimen. And then number five, we get what's called brain fog, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and eventually Alzheimer's. But all of those are our body telling us we haven't corrected the course. And if you don't correct it, you're going to get sick and die and live a horrible life.

And you know your doctor's going to see you and put you on half a dozen different medications and you're going to have a horrible quality of life thereafter.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Wow. Not a great narrative and Deep Wealth Nation certainly not where we want to be. And again, going along that path of some of the basics, the fundamentals, let's begin to dispel some more myths. because I know with social media when I go out there, I see all kinds of gurus [00:19:00] talking about nitric oxide and how I can eat certain kinds of foods or vegetables and I'm going to get nitric oxide in abundance and more than I need.

So what's going on with that? Because I heard you earlier, and I know you talk a lot about this in your book and in your research, it's a gas, so there's some complexities because it's a gas, there's going to be some challenges there. So what's going on with that in terms of getting this from our food supply?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Well, it's very difficult, number one, because the, depending upon where vegetables are grown, the soil conditions, the agronomy, the amount of sunlight, lightning storms in that area is going to be dependent upon or is going to dictate how much nitrate is in that food. so it's very difficult to predict how much nitrate you're getting from eating green leafy vegetables or beets, for example, which is a.

Most people think is a common source of nitric oxide. Then the other thing these companies don't understand is that nitrate is a nerd in humans. We have to have the right bacteria in the mouth to metabolize this molecule. If you don't have the right bacteria, you just excrete this molecule unchanged in your feces, in your poop, and your pee in your sweat.

And with [00:20:00] two outta three Americans using mouthwash, and 99 out of a hundred Americans using toothpaste, with fluoride, you're completely killing the microbiome. And completely eliminating the nitric oxide benefits of a diet. And then the other problem are anac acids. Two outta three Americans, over and over the counter anac acids, 200 million prescriptions written every year for anac acids.

So these pathways are disrupted. So it's very difficult if's not impossible to get enough nitric oxide from the foods you eat because of these steps that are required. And, companies out there who are selling bead products, for example, they don't understand this because they're not scientists.

These companies are led by CEOs, marketing gurus, former tech people who don't understand the science of micro oxide. So if you don't understand the science, how can you make products or sell products that address the root cause of nitric oxide deficiency? And the truth is, you can't. And that's, the source of my daily frustration is, as a founder and chairman and CEO of a for-profit company and a company who makes nitric oxide products, is how do we differentiate [00:21:00] what we do from all these other yahoos out there screaming from the rooftops at their nitric oxide?

And I think it comes from experience and wisdom. Spending 30 years in, in science and academia and doing the actual research and contributing to the literature and being the innovator out there and creating the market. Not just leading, being the market leader, but being the market maker. But as we grow and, awareness around electric oxide, other companies are going to enter, they're going to be selling products that don't work because they can't work because they don't understand the science.

Jeffrey Feldberg: So interesting Deep Wealth Nation. I want you to know this. When I was preparing for my discussion today with Dr. Bryan and I was researching into. What you're putting out there and what you're finding and some of your insights. What was fascinating was in, you can say Jeffrey OnBase or off base, I believe you had pointed out that if you took, as an example, beets, which a lot of people point to, hey, have some beets, you're going to get lots of nitric oxide.

Well, that's a myth because what you're sharing is depending on where the beat was growing and you mentioned this, some parts of the country, you're going to get more. Some parts of [00:22:00] the country you're going to get less. That said, though, our soil. Specifically the quality of the soil and what's not in it that used to be in it.

We'd have to be eating virtually a truckload of beets to begin to get the levels that we need to get to. So depending on where it comes from and the soil conditions and all those other kinds of variables that are just outside of our reach is not so straightforward. Thoughts about that?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: No, that's true. You know, We published this in 2015. I was the person who published this, but like even before that, from the 1940s to the 2010s, there's, it's been shown and documented that there's a 76% decrease in the basic micronutrients in the soil. From the foods grown in America in the 1940s to the 2010s.

And then in 2015 we published a very important paper showing that the same vegetables grown in five cities across the us. There's as much as a 50 fold difference in the nitrate content of those vegetables. So again, it depends upon where these grown. And then the other thing, the other major problem, Jeffrey, that people don't understand is [00:23:00] when you have a consumer product, a beep powder.

It's then taken from raw beets that are harvested. We create a high Brix concentrate, then you dry it into a powder. In these drying processes, you lose all the water soluble nutrients because it's high heat, high pressure. All the water comes out, all the water soluble nutrients come out. And nitrate is a water soluble nutrients.

So these beet powders that are sold on tv and these other form factors are beets. They're what we call deadbeats. They have no nutrient value whatsoever. They have no nitric oxide value whatsoever. But yet, if you turn on your TV or radio, you see these commercials and these companies are selling beets and purporting that it's a nitric oxide product, and it's not a nitric oxide product.

There's no nitric oxide activity whatsoever in these products.

Jeffrey Feldberg: I love how you're positioning deadbeats that play on words. Absolutely love that. And so in addition to watching what we eat and don't eat, and our exercise and what we're consuming and what we're starting, what we're stopping, I know you have some help along the way because [00:24:00] you developed a number of things with nitric oxide.

One of them are the lozenges. So speak to us about your N101 Nitric oxide lozenges. Wow. That's a mouthful, but it's a mouthful of good things that's going on there. So tell us about that. What's some of the secret sauce that's going in there?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Yeah. Well, let me be honest with you. in my academic career It was never my intent to develop dietary supplements, we're in the drug discovery business to, and my, charge was to understand the mechanism of disease to the extent that we create safe and effective drug therapy.

But during this course we realized that nitric oxide is a, a naturally produced molecule, and there's natural product chemistry that can produce this gas. So once we understand how the human body makes nitric oxide and what leads to a loss of its production, then we could start developing technology.

That could restore the natural production of nitric oxide. Sar whole philosophy was, look, if your body can't make nitric oxide, then we gotta provide it for you. And it's similar to hormone replacement therapy. If your body has lost the ability to produce testosterone as men, we gotta give you testosterone.

Same thing in postmenopausal women. If you can't [00:25:00] make estrogen, we're going to give you estrogen. But interesting, nitric oxide is a guess as we mentioned earlier, and so. It's not a pill you can swallow. It's not beets, for example. So I had to create a, what we call a solid dose form of nitric oxide gas.

And so I had to do this through what's called an orally disintegrating tablet. So in this lozenge, I designed it to have a resident time of about five to six minutes, but I want to release a certain amount of nitric oxide over a certain period of time to recapitulate nitric oxide production and signaling.

It's number one. If your body can't make it, we do it for you. But number two, I think the most important aspect of that is I want to improve the body's ability to naturally produce nitric oxide. I understand the enzymology and the biochemistry of the enzyme. We can recouple it, make it functional again, and because this lozenge resides in the mouth, it's restoring the normal flora, the bacteria, they're responsible for the natural production of nitric oxide.

So if your body can't make nitric oxide, the lozenge provides it for you. But it's repairing and fixing the endogenous system. So over time your body's able to more naturally produce [00:26:00] nitric oxide on its own. And so that's the beauty of this technology that no other company out there does or has access to.

Jeffrey Feldberg: And so what I'm hearing you say is there's a science behind this. It's not as well, you can put beets into powder, it's dead beets play on words as you're sharing. It can't just be, well have this food here or have this supplement or powder here because it's a gas. It's more complex and it otherwise would be.

So you figured out the science and the process and as the saying also goes. Dose makes the poison of

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Absolutely.

Jeffrey Feldberg: How much is in the lozenge, how much we want to have released. Too little is not going to do a whole lot of good. Too much is not going to do a whole lot of good. So it's that goldilock scenario of just enough at the right time, the right amount that you've put into the lozenge and not that, Hey, take this lozenge, it's going to solve all of your problems.

Because like you said, if we're not sleeping properly, if we're not eating properly, if we're not having the proper exercise, there's only so much that a supplement or a tablet in this case can actually do. If we are doing the right things though, and I know everyone's body is different, what works for you may not [00:27:00] necessarily work for me.

Generally speaking though, taking the lozenge, following the advice of eating healthy, having exercise, a good night of sleep, figuring out the whole stress side of things so I'm not overly stressed out in the cortisol and all the other things that go along with that I'm doing the best that I can to live a healthy life in a being life, not a to doing life, and I'm now having lozenges.

Generally speaking, best guess as to what I may start experiencing or feeling.

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Well, let me take a step back because it what we do in terms of a supplement dose, we first had to understand how much nitric oxide a normal, healthy person makes in 24 hours. And then based on the American lifestyle, drug therapy, diet, things like that, how much is missing? What's the deficit in that?

And so in developing a supplement is much different than developing a drug supplement. We have to give back what's missing, and we don't have to demonstrate safety, not efficacy. In drug therapy, we have to demonstrate safety and efficacy. So once we understood how much nitric oxide is made through both pathways, then we could put that back in the supplement dose.

And then [00:28:00] once nitric oxide is produced. We then had to understand where does it go? What does it become and how does it signal? Once we map that out, then we could start doing pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamic studies. To get to the question that you answered is, how much do you need and what effects will you see?

So for a normal, healthy person who's just looking to maintain optimal nitric oxide, we need one lozenge every 12 hours. because that's based on predictable pharmacokinetics. And what do people feel? Most of the time people are going to feel just better energy. Their sexual function's going to improve.

Their energy levels are going to improve. We see an increase in number of circulating stem cells. People may or may not feel that we see dilation of the carotids within 10 seconds of putting that loss into your mouth again, you may or may not feel that we see an improvement in exercise performance.

We've got clinical data where we can reverse kidney disease within five days, where we can completely reverse heart disease within five months. So these are all the documented, clinically relevant endpoints that we've been able to publish on and [00:29:00] document. Just taking, the supplement form, we're developing drug therapy based on this as well.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Okay, so there's a lot of science that's going on behind that. Generally speaking though, what I'm hearing is it'll help accelerate my body's ability to restore and recover and get me back there. And really from one entrepreneur to another entrepreneur, you have a number of companies, as you mentioned, over a billion dollars in terms of what you've been able to create with the value of what's going on there.

As an entrepreneur, you're running multiple companies, you have a lot going on. You're a scientist while you're doing all of that. Having nitric oxide in the right place at the right time for you, what has that meant for you with your journey and your day to day? What does that look like?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: You know, when you do things that are what I consider life changing. You become a target, right? And people come after you. Companies come after you, competitors come after you. And so I always have to be at the top of my game, and so for me, it's every day wake up with a servant's heart, with a sense of gratitude.

I wake up and, every day I'm doing an intermittent fast. I eat my last meal at six, next meal at at noon the next day. But I [00:30:00] start my day in an infrared sauna with prayer, with gratitude, and then mentally basically plan out my day, what's the strategy for the day? How am I going to execute this strategy to make sure that we maintain the leadership position, that we're always doing the right thing, making the right choices, doing what's best for people, and not putting profit over science.

Then, and so I have to be at the top of my game every day. So I take my nitric oxide lozenge, actually, I make a fer minute beep powder that I use before my workouts in the morning that gets my blood flow going. And I do my workouts. I do the sa of the cold plunge. And so that's how I start my day and I plan out my day.

And I don't, but those are the non-negotiables for me. But as an entrepreneur, you have to wake up every day. And be ready to take on the world and continue to lead and beat out the competition.

Jeffrey Feldberg: And Deep Wealth Nation as you're hearing this as Dr. Bryan shares what his daily rituals are. It reminds me a lot of how we run our businesses. We have our KPIs. Some of those KPIs are daily. We're checking in, [00:31:00] okay, what's going on today? Some of them are weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly. We're checking in on those.

When it comes to your mental health, your physical health, Deep Wealth Nation what are your KPIs?

Do you have some KPIs?

Well, Dr. Bryan shared for himself and he is not only an entrepreneur, he is also a man of science. So he has both spectrums going on there of what's working for him. Such critical takeaways, because it is my own personal data point of one, Dr.

Bryan, that are rituals, what some people call habits. That's what makes our day, makes our weeks, which makes our months and quarters, years, decades, and ultimately our life. But it all starts with a single day. And on the flip side of that, yesterday's already happened. Tomorrow isn't here. All I have is today the present.

That's why it's the gift, it's the present, and that's what I have to absolutely make the most of. So with that said, if we zoom back for just a moment, you've done so much. This is not the only patent that you have. You have many others. When you look at what you've achieved, what you've accomplished is nitric oxide and some of the things that we've been talking [00:32:00] about is at the top of your list.

Is there another one that you'd put out there at being, Hey, yeah, in addition to this, I'm really proud of what's going on over here. What would that be?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Now look, I spent my entire adult and professional career on this single molecule. Nitric oxide, and we've accomplished a lot, but we've still got a lot to do. We've been very successful in the supplement business. We make a topical skincare product line on nitric oxide that restores blood flow to the skin.

But for me it's going back to my original mission is to develop safe and effective drug therapy so we can eradicate these poorly managed chronic disease. But to me, there's no excuse why people are still dying from cardiovascular disease. The fact that cardiovascular disease remains the number one killer of men and women worldwide is unacceptable.

We know what causes it. We know how to diagnose it, and we know how to fix it. So as we move our technology through drug therapy. Through the FDA, we've got a drug for ischemic heart disease. We're developing a drug for Alzheimer's, and I'm absolutely convinced nitric oxide based therapies will completely eradicate, reverse, prevent and cure Alzheimer's.

And then we make a topical drug for diabetic ulcers and non-healing wounds. [00:33:00] You know the fact that 65,000 Americans die in nursing homes every year from wounds that become infected, they get septic and die. It's completely unacceptable. We can do better. We must do better, and we are going to do better as we continue to move this forward.

My goal is to, lead the world in safe and effective nitric oxide product technologies in every major market segment around the world, including drug therapy. And when we do that, we'll change the world.

Jeffrey Feldberg: I absolutely respect and admire that vision. Big picture wise, it's literally, as I like to say, changing the social fabric of society and flipping for just a moment to the business side. Now, my goodness, you're up against big pharma, multi-billion, arguably trillion dollar industry who have a different business model, not one that's necessarily in our favor.

So what's that been like for you? You alluded to it a little bit earlier. Can you share with us what's been going on with that? How's that been? As someone bringing out really natural, non-prescription drugs, for the most part, that can improve health?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Well, I go back to a quote from 400 years ago by Schopenhauer, who's a German philosopher, and he talks [00:34:00] about truths and fundamental truths go through three stages. First they're ridiculed. Second, they're violently opposed. Third, they're accepted as being self-evident. And what we're finding is my scientific discoveries from 25, 30 years ago are now turning out to be fundamental truths.

And certainly I've been ridiculed by my academic colleagues. I've been violently opposed by big pharma. Some of my competitors, I've been sued. People sued me personally and my companies to shut us down and drain us financially. But you know what, when I've survived the ridicule and I've survived the vital opposition, I know that the third stage is imminent.

This is self-evident what we're doing, but also the beauty and the many blessings I've experienced is I've put myself in a financial situation to where I'm not viable. I'm not for sale, I'm not building this company to sell it. I'm building this company to change the world. And so I've been offered, hundreds of millions of dollars to go away and for companies to come in and, and buy the majority ownership in my companies.

I'm not doing that. So I'm not for sale. We're not doing it to make money. We're doing it to [00:35:00] do the right thing, to get safe and effective therapies and product technology out there that's going to improve people's lives all around the world. And so, it's not easy. I've been a target.

I've had private investigators follow me. I've, had trespassers on my property from people who've tried to come after me. And it's a very dangerous proposition. Honestly, if I'm honest with myself, but you know, I got the truth on my side. I'm a, God-fearing faithful Catholic Christian.

And so, I wake up every day, do the best I can and, try to treat people with respect and let science lead the way.

Jeffrey Feldberg: It's so interesting, and particularly Dr. Bryan as here at Deep Wealth one of the things that we do, we really have two streams, entrepreneurs who want to grow the business, no plans on selling and others who say, yes, I do want to grow the business. I want to grow top line, bottom line. At one point, I do want to sell and your conviction is I'm going to help humanity.

Now that said, many entrepreneurs have that vision. They said similar types of things. And then as a saying goes, an offer comes along that they simply can't refuse. And you've had that. So what has you stay with that conviction? I'm just curious mindset [00:36:00] wise where it could be, okay, listen, you've done your part and now it's time for me.

To relax, enjoy some of the financial spoils that come from what I've earned, what I've created along the way, and it'll be someone else's journey to take it or not take it to the next step. I've done my part though, and this is going to be my closing chapter in this particular area, and you're, thank you.

But no, thank you. All those zeros doesn't really make a difference for me. I'm not going down that path.

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: No look, I've been blessed to be poor most of my life, but I've also been blessed to have, abundance, and here's what I've learned. I know that money is only important when you don't have it. And obviously there's most of my life. It was important because I didn't have it. But I also recognize that my life was so much simpler.

When we don't have abundance. there's going to be a point in time when, as I age and, get to a point if we accomplish our goals and get our nitric oxide products and drugs approved and, massive worldwide distribution and access to our products.

We've accomplished the goals that I set out to, we're improving healthcare, improving people's [00:37:00] lives, and maybe my kids don't want to take over the family business, then maybe there is an exit. But, that's not the top of mind for me. The top of mind for me is making sure we do the right thing, letting science lead the way for our product development, and making sure we're providing value and that I leave this world a better place than I entered it.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Absolutely pure, not gold, but platinum and Deep Wealth Nation, what Dr. Bryan is sharing with us right now. Deep Wealth Nation. Go back to episode 500. It was just released a few weeks back and that's where myself and co-founder Steve Wells were talking about Dr. Bryan, over 500 episodes of incredible guests that have come along.

What has been some of the key takeaways? The insights that generally you don't hear a lot out there is a really an inside look at success from entrepreneurs and incredible guests from all walks of life. And you just said one of the things and that is. Money will only take you so far. It's certainly not going to buy happiness.

Now, let's be honest and real about this. Money is like a lubricant for life. It can make life easier. It can [00:38:00] make things smoother for you. It can make life a whole lot better. That said, though, it can't fill you up with joy or happiness, that's an inside job. Nothing else is going to do that. And Deep Wealth Nation, we talked about in episode 500, and you heard Dr.

Bryan said this just now, all the money in the world. If it makes you a prisoner in your own business that you're not enjoying life, well, what's the point of that? That's really not freedom. That's being in prison, a different kind of prison. But some people call it success, but it really isn't. And what's incredibly impressive, Dr.

Bryan, with your accomplishments, you know what you want. You also know what you don't want. And in our nine step roadmap, step three future buyer, we talk about this of, hey, whether it's a new customer that you're bringing on board or you're bringing on an investor or a future buyer. Ahead of time, you better know what you want, your deal points, but also what you don't want, your no-fly zones.

And for you, it's a lifestyle. It's a fulfillment, it's a joy. And yes, the money certainly is important to run a business and to live life. It's not at the top [00:39:00] of your list. And I really appreciate that.

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Yes, our philosophy from day one is being, if you do the right thing, the cash register rings right, but we've never tried to ring the cash register because I believe in, the biblical teaching that the love of money is the root of all evil. But also understand that if you do the right thing and you create value and you solve a major problem from a commercial standpoint, the money is a consequence of doing the right thing.

It's not what drives me. It's a consequence of that. And I think if you look back in the history of, truly people who have created generational Wealth, it's because they solved a major problem and they were driven by these value propositions and Sure. And I think and those are the type of legacies that last, but you know, again, doing the right thing, the catch register rings.

Jeffrey Feldberg: And before we go into wrap up mode, my next question, my goodness, it could be an entire series and for some in Deep Wealth Nation, they might find it even somewhat offensive. So Deep Wealth Nation please. Keep an open mind because it's become outta favor to talk about being spiritual or [00:40:00] God or the universe, whatever you're most comfortable with.

You've made it very clear though that having that relationship, having your faith, it's an important part of not only who you are, how that affects what you do day in, day out and in your business. Can you talk with Pulp Nation, why that's been important, the difference that that's made for you?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: I think it goes back to our upbringing. Faith has always been a critical part of my growing up and even my life. But, you know, when you're trying to make scientific discoveries in science and medicine, I think it's important to have a conversation with the creator, if I'm going to figure out how the human body.

Works and solve problems in anatomy and physiology and biochemistry. I think it's important to have a conversation with the creator. So every day I wake up and I have a conversation. I read scripture. But you know, when the going gets tough, at the end of the day, we have faith and reliance that, we're going to get through this and this.

Saying that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, as difficult and challenging as it is, I think it's it's true. And I think being an entrepreneur, [00:41:00] there's a lot of symmetry with faith, because as an entrepreneur you have to have faith. You know that what you're doing is going to get you to the next day, that you're going to have enough, financial capital to keep going and make investments in what you're doing.

And so for me, there's really no, divorce. From that faith is extremely important in what I do and how I live my life. I want to, make sure that I live by the golden rule and treat people how I want to be treated and, live with a servant's heart and, try to do the best I can.

Jeffrey Feldberg: And what's incredible about that is yes, it's so very true. At the same time, though, you're speaking not only as an entrepreneur, as a scientist, and so often the two are in completely different silos. In fact, one of them, faith part doesn't even show up. So it's refreshing as a scientist, as an entrepreneur, as a person.

That you're sharing that with us. And before we do go into Rappa mode, two more quick things. People are busy. They've got their businesses, they've got their lives, they have a lot of takeaways here that they can do. And again, nation, go to the show notes. All these links are going to be there. In [00:42:00] addition to the nitric oxide lozenges that we spoke about, you have a whole line that you refer to, whether it be things for the skin, skincare creams serums.

You talked about the beets powder you've put together. What could we do that would be some low hanging fruit that okay, maybe I try the lozenges. I may want to try one or two other things from the line that you've created. Obviously to what you said earlier, you didn't create it for the sake of creating it.

You created it because there's a need, there's some problems. You're helping people on the health and in different areas. If you had a top one or two recommendations from your entire range of products that you've created, what would you recommend someone start with?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: You start with the lozenge. The lozenge is the really the source of nitric oxide that your body's unable to make. Then, you know, we talked about beets, but because people were looking for beets as a source of nitric oxide, I almost felt like I had an obligation to give people a beet product that actually works.

So I created a fermented bee product called NO beets. When, as soon as you put it in solution, it generates nitric oxide, and that's what we position as a pre-workout or energy product. And then the topical I, healed a [00:43:00] non-healing wound, a 4-year-old non-healing wound in my dad who's a paraplegic from a car accident in 1984.

So once we started developing topical nitric oxide, and I could heal wound. We thought, well, let's bring that to market as a topical. And for skincare and beauty, because nitric oxide, the skin is an organ without adequate circulation, that organ fails and we develop fine lines and wrinkles and dermatitis and acne and rosacea.

So the topical nitric oxide is a really a game changer in skincare and beauty. And then, recently I developed a toothpaste because we realized 20 years ago that fluoride in toothpaste, and a lot of, the detergents were destroying the microbiome, decreasing nitric oxide production and causing an increase in blood pressure.

So now I created a toothpaste, a nitric oxide friendly toothpaste that we're finding when people switch to the toothpaste it targets the oral microbiome, improves nitric oxide production, and we're starting to see blood pressure come down in people who have an elevation in blood pressure just by targeting the microbiome.

But really, it's the, it's incorporation of all that. In lifestyle as we talked about. The toothpaste, the lozenge, and [00:44:00] then the topical nitric oxide skincare. But it's what we call beauty inside and out.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Absolutely incredible. And Deep Wealth Nation, I want you to know that very recently, science has finally begun to recognize that most of the diseases, these terrible diseases that are putting people off to the side, or even worse, they're having a different kind of exit, one that nobody wants.

It starts in the mouth. And if you think about that from our mouth, it goes all throughout the body. And what's interesting, Dr. Bryan, what you're sharing with the toothpaste is perhaps this is one way of making sure that our microbiome in the mouth is where it should be in the first place, and possibly a way to eliminate some future headaches that nobody wants on the health side.

And all of that said, before we go into wrap up, is there a question or even a topic or message that we haven't yet discussed that you want to share with Deep Wealth Nation?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: I just ask that people, if you're looking for nitric oxide based product solutions, trust us because we're the company who's actually done the science, advanced the science, and created science-based product technology. There are a lot of [00:45:00] companies out there who make a lot of really good products, even in the supplement space, right?

But nitric oxide is not like a vitamin C we can throw in a capsule or a vitamin D that you can take. This is a very complex molecule, a gaseous molecule, and so if you're looking for nitric oxide product solutions, I'd ask that you would trust us based on our science and the credibility and the trust that we hope to earn from you through our N 1 0 1 line of products.

Jeffrey Feldberg: A terrific message. And like anything else, people, nation, do you go to just any accountant or any business lawyer, or is it somebody that you trust, someone who's earned their stripes in the trenches making a difference out there, and the same kind of thing here? Hey, be careful what you're purchasing. Be careful what you're taking.

They're not all the same. And so that said, Dr. Bryan, we're going to go into wrap up mode. It's a tradition here on the Deep Wealth Podcast. It's my privilege, my honor, to ask the same question to every guest. It's a really fun question. Let me set this up for you. When you think of the movie Back to the Future, you have that magical DeLorean car that will take you to any point in time.

So Dr. Bryan, it is tomorrow morning. You look outside your [00:46:00] window. Not only is the DeLorean car curbside, this is the fun part. You open your door, you're going to walk outside, you're going to hop into the DeLorean car, and you're going to go back to any point in time, perhaps when you're a young child, a teenager, whatever point in time it would be.

What would you tell your younger self in terms of life lessons or life wisdom or, Hey, do this but don't do that. What would that sound like?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: For me it's to be careful to not trust people that are not trustworthy. I think the biggest lesson we learn in life and the the hardest lesson is betrayal. And betrayal only occurs from people that you trust. And I think that's been the most difficult thing for me is betrayal by people that I once trusted and.

When a lot of times that when I look back the red flags were there and I ignored the red flags, and those are for me, the most painful lessons. I would warn myself of the, these shenanigans who maybe not be doing what's in your best interest.

Jeffrey Feldberg: It's a terrific message and Dr. Bryan, I've been where you are. It is not a great place to be when that happens, so be careful with whom you trust. It's some terrific advice. Or as Ronald Reagan would always say, Hey, [00:47:00] trust, but verify, and such a, such an important thing of perhaps not everyone is thinking like we're thinking or has our good intentions.

It may actually be the opposite. So be careful with whom you trust. It's a great takeaway. And Dr. Bryan. The Deep Wealth Nation, they have a question. They want to learn more about what's going on. They want to take their health to the next level so they can be a better person, they can have a better business, they'll be a better entrepreneur as a result of that.

Where's the best place online to do that? I.

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: My first is the, book, the Secret of Nitric Cox said, we launched this on Fox and Friends in February. It's by Brook Tower Press, and my agent Alan Morrell, I'm very proud of it, it tells this whole story, the personal journey of what nitric oxide is, the discoveries we made.

So you can get that at nathan's book.com, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, wherever books were sold. But, for me, it's about my YouTube channel because again. I'm less interested in selling product and more interested in awareness and understanding the science of nitric oxide. And it's my YouTube channel is Dr.

Nathan S. Bryan nitric oxide on Instagram, Dr. Nathan S. Bryan. The same on LinkedIn X. I'm Dr. Nitric. And then for [00:48:00] those interested in the following, our drug discovery journey. That's bryantherapeutics.com and our consumer products are N1O1.com. That's the letter n number one, letter o number one.com.

Jeffrey Feldberg: And Deep Wealth Nation great news. It does not get any easier. This is all in the show notes. There's a point and click, so go to the show notes, pick up the book, take a look at all the other resources that are there. Well, it's official. Dr. Bryan, congratulations. This is a wrap and as we love to stay here at Deep Wealth, may you continue to thrive and prosper while you remain healthy and safe.

Thank you so much.

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan: Thank you, Jeffrey.

Scientist, Author, Inventor

What if the molecule that holds the key to longevity, performance, and healing isn’t a pill—it’s the air you breathe, the food you eat, and the science we’ve barely understood?

Dr. Nathan S. Bryan is one of the world’s leading experts on nitric oxide—a tiny, fleeting molecule with huge implications for human health. As a biochemist and molecular medicine pioneer, he has spent over two decades charting how our bodies produce, lose, and restore this critical signal, showing that nitric oxide isn’t just a gas—it’s a master regulator.

His research has led to multiple patented technologies, clinical-stage therapies for chronic disease, and breakthrough nutraceutical innovations.

He’s also the author of The Secret of Nitric Oxide — a book that translates complex biochemistry into a practical roadmap for wellbeing.

Dr. Bryan’s mission? To put this “miracle molecule” into the hands of everyone—not just as science, but as a practical lever for healing, aging, and thriving. If your curiosity is piqued by what your body could do when its signaling systems are restored, this conversation will change how you think about health.
