Why take that risk?

Deep Wealth Mastery is here to boost your profits, enhance your business value, and arm you with strategies that guided our founders towards a 9-figure deal. From startup entrepreneurs to those edging towards billion-dollar revenue marks, our system is delivering real results.

Deep Wealth Mastery is a game-changer and the only program designed from our founders' 9-figure deal.

Our graduates have had nothing but praise:

"I wish I had access to Deep Wealth Mastery before my liquidity event as it would have been extremely helpful. Deep Wealth Mastery exceeded my expectations in terms of content and quality," shared Stacey C.

"The investment I made in the Deep Wealth program pales in comparison to the value I've created and will receive in the future," said Sanjay S.

302 Dave Albine

Jeffrey Feldberg: [00:00:00] Welcome to the Deep Wealth Podcast where you learn how to extract your business and personal Deep Wealth.

I'm your host Jeffrey Feldberg.

This podcast is brought to you by Deep Wealth and the 90-day Deep Wealth Experience.

When it comes to your business deep wealth, your exit or liquidity event is the most important financial decision of your life.

But unfortunately, up to 90% of liquidity events fail. Think about all that time and your hard earned money wasted.

Of the quote unquote "successful" liquidity events, most business owners leave 50% to over 100% of the deal value in the buyer's pocket and don't even know it.

I should know. I said "no" to a seven-figure offer. And "yes" to mastering the art and the science of a liquidity event. [00:01:00] Two years later, I said "yes" to a different buyer with a nine figure deal.

Are you thinking about an exit or liquidity event?

Don't become a statistic and make the fatal mistake of believing the skills that built your business are the same ones to sell it.

After all, how can you master something you've never done before?

Let the 90-day Deep Wealth Experience and the 9-step roadmap of preparation help you capture the best deal instead of any deal.

At the end of this episode, take a moment and hear from business owners like you, who went through the Deep Wealth Experience.

Dave Albine is the number one fire walk instructor in America. Having worked for Tony Robbins for 19 plus years and starting Firewalk Productions in 2014, Dave has firewalked hundreds of thousands of people. He and Tony Robbins set a world record in London in 2005, walking over 12, 300 people.

Dave's success has a scary and violent past. On June [00:02:00] 8, 1988, he put a gun to his head to stop the excruciating pain from both drug and alcohol addiction. 2023 marks 35 years of sobriety.

Dave's clients include Google, NASA, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Heineken, Chick fil A, Tony Robbins, The Four Seasons, and many others.

Welcome to the Deep Wealth Podcast. And you heard it in the official introduction. Wow. What a guest we have. And when you go to Dave's website, I love what's on there. Stop looking for heroes and be one. So we're going to talk all about that. Pun intended. We're going to set you on fire today and talk all about that.

But Dave, welcome to the Deep Wealth Podcast. An absolute pleasure and delight to have you with us. And Dave, I am curious. Well, you and I are chuckling at that. There is a terrific story behind the story. So what's your story, Dave? What. Took you from where you were to where you are today?

Dave Albine: So I was born to a single mom. Now I got a single mom who's a bad ass, right?

Because she came out of that generation that saved the world, right? She was one of those women, why all the [00:03:00] men were fighting the war in World War II.

So when all that was taking place, guess what all the women were doing? They were home doing everything, literally, my mom was known as Rosie the Riveter. She worked for McDonald Douglas during the war and she built airplanes.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Wow.

Dave Albine: Like a lot of other women, they built jeeps, tanks, munitions, everything.

When I was five, she just couldn't do it anymore. She couldn't feed us. So she went to her older sister, my aunt, Pat, and my uncle Bob by marriage.

And she said, Hey, will you adopt David? And they said, yes, absolutely. So they moved me from Hollywood to Long Beach. So now I'm living with Bob and Pat Albine, who I don't know what happened at five years old. They're my parents as far as I know. I don't know anything to difference. Bob's military.

He's a highly decorated officer in World War II, career military, officer in the Army and the National Guard. We went camping all the time. I'm in Southern California. We'd go to Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead. We went to Yosemite. We went all over the place camping.

I grew up across the [00:04:00] street from a golf course called El Dorado Golf Course, East Long Beach, and here's what I learned about golfers.

They suck, right? Because I'd get on my stingray bike, I'd ride the perimeter of the golf course, and guess what I would find? Are golf balls worth money? You better believe they

Jeffrey Feldberg: Absolutely.

Dave Albine: I'd go home, I'd clean them, I'd go back to the golf course in the trash cans and they, the boxes that the balls would come in, they threw away.

So I'd go get those, I'd come back and I'd, I'd arrange them, you know, 12 balls in a, box. And I'd put the Max Flies and the Titleist and the Wilsons and the Dunlaps together. And then I'd go back into the, parking lot of the golf course and sell them back to the golfers,

Jeffrey Feldberg: Smart, love that entrepreneurial spirit.

Dave Albine: Man, right?

Jeffrey Feldberg: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Very low input costs and a very high margin

Dave Albine: great margin.

Jeffrey Feldberg:

young age. But David, let me put a pause on things for a moment. I mean, there's so much that you shared and I know there's more you're going to be sharing and so much to unpack, but

Let me ask you this.

It's just amazing how small daily [00:05:00] steps that we take in our lives today, as an example, what's in the fridge or what's at the office or what we're reading or the kinds of posters that we're having at the office that everyone else is reading, the right kind of messages or the wrong kinds of messages or items can literally shape the trajectory of not only our lives, hmm.

Yes. Mm hmm.

Dave Albine: Yeah, 100%. It did. Obviously. It influenced me greatly,

if I've learned anything from Tony Robbins, he's said to me many times, who you hang out with is who you become, so, choose wisely, because you definitely will become who you spend time with. Love your family, choose your friends, he says, and it's true,

Jeffrey Feldberg: mm hmm, mm

Dave Albine: And so three marriages later, 1988. that was the day that I saved my own life. I threw myself a life preserver. When I woke up that morning, I'm married to wife number three. She had three kids and I married her because I thought those three kids would help me settle down.

Got ugly. I'm living in the basement. They're living [00:06:00] upstairs. And when I woke up that morning, Jeff, I said, that's it. I'm done. I'm out. I am not doing this anymore.

And then all of a sudden, as I'm loading the pistol, I'm going whoa, wait a minute. You pull that trigger, you're going to kill those three kids up there. Yeah, you'll be dead. Your problems will be over, but their problems are just going to start.

I'm like, no, you can't do that. You've got to find a better way. so the next thought I had was call Alcoholics Anonymous.

So I did. I called, and I got a wonderful woman on the other end of the phone. She's part of the reason I'm here today.

She helped save my life. The next thing I know, I got a guy knocking on my door by the name of Lauren.

Lauren took me to an all men's group in Fairfax, Virginia called the Stepping Stones Group of Alcoholics Anonymous. He stayed with me all day. A perfect stranger, knew nothing about me, and he took me to a 12. 30, a 4. 30, a 6. 30, and an 8. 30 AA meeting. The love of AA. Started right there on that first day.[00:07:00]

The second day, eight o'clock in the morning, my phone rings. It's John from AA. And I answer the phone. He's like, hey, Dave, how you doing this morning? He said, hey, listen, you remember, we talked last night. I live right around the corner from you. Let's do this. Let me come pick you up. Let me take you to breakfast and I'll take you to another AA meeting.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Mhm.

Dave Albine: This outpouring of love for these men, I'd never felt anything like it.

That's where I felt at home. And so two days turned into a week, a week turned into a month. And when I got a month, they gave me a chip.

They gave me one that said one month of continuous sobriety. Then they gave me one at two months, three months, six months, nine months, and one year. And this last June 8th. Here in 2023, I picked up my chip for 35

years that I've

Jeffrey Feldberg: Congratulations. Congratulations. That's so, so incredible, what a story really from the brink of ending it all to here you are today. And so Dave, I'm curious because you're [00:08:00] going through this journey. You hit literally rock bottom. But I want to take you now to 1995..

Because that's really where the next chapter for what we're talking about. That's when it all began. And you find yourself at a Tony Robbins event, and they're talking about fire walking, going across these very hot coals, a thousand plus degrees. And I know in the back of your mind, you're thinking, yeah, this is BS.

Can't happen. Impossible. No way. Yet in the blink of an eye, you find yourself on the other side. You've actually done it. Something happened at that moment. Can you talk to us? What happened that forever? Once again, you're a product of your environment. In that environment, you change your trajectory, which brought you fast forward here to today.

So what happened? What's going on there?

Dave Albine: Well, so when I signed up for it, I found out there was going to be a firewalk, but I was like, no, I'm not going to do that. I'll go and I'll just watch. Well, when you get there, Tony sets you up. For success, one of the things he does, he gets, I the event started at two. Next [00:09:00] thing I know it's after midnight and Tony goes, take your shoes off.

And I'm like, Oh no, man. I see where you're going with that. I'm not doing that. Well, challenge I have, I'm in a room with 3, 500 people. And so they're all taking their shoes off. So I'm like the pressure from that. I was like, okay, well just take your shoes off and go hide in the back. that was my strategy.

Well, when he gets you going out there, he's got everybody chanting and clapping. Right there yes, and when you get outside in this big parking lot where 3, 500 people are going to firewalk, he's got African drummers. So now it's dun dun dun dun dun dun. I mean, it's a dog and pony show. It's crazy.

Well, when I went and hid in the back, Tony knows that the firewalk is probably the most life changing experience any human can go through. And so he also notices a bunch of people like me that are gonna chicken out and they're all gonna hide in the back. So what's he do? He trains people to come find you.

And that guy found me. And he got me through it. And in fact, that guy, that stranger, to this day, has no idea how he influenced me and what I've been able to do today as a result of that stranger [00:10:00] encouraging me. Because without him, I'm certainly not on the Deep Wealth Podcast with you. That would have never happened.

I wouldn't have walked a half a million people. A whole bunch of things would have never happened. So, and when I finally did it, and I actually walked across Kohl's, my immediate reaction was, what I found was, is when you take that first step, oh, you'll take the second, third, fourth, and fifth, I guarantee you, right?

And I literally thought I burnt myself really bad once I'm in the celebration end and I looked at my foot and it was dirty. But there was no burns, but it felt like it. And so now I'm in the celebration with 3, 500 people, and we are jumping up and down and screaming. It's one of the most exhilarating moments of my entire life.

There was nothing like it ever. And it was just, you're in that moment, you're like, I can do anything. Where's the bus? Let's go to Everest. What's next? But here's where it gets really interesting, Jeff, what's the next day? This is a four day event, by the way. So that was day one, the night of, and now we're coming into day two, 3, 500 people standing in a foyer, getting ready to go into the venue.

And I've [00:11:00] never seen or witnessed anything like this in my entire life. way people were getting along humanistically was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Because the night before, yeah, we drank the Kool Aid, we did the firewalk, but what did it do to us? Well, collectively, it raised our self belief.

Our self confidence and our self worth. So when we came in the next morning, our energy and our frequency, we were all on the same wavelength. And so I was watching people and they were laughing and crying and hugging and connecting and talking and communicating unlike anything I'd ever seen.

Well, later in the event, and really that moment, by the way, got me, that's what really got me, because I went, wow, does that do that? Is that what the firewalk does? It brings people together like that? Well, you better believe it does, and that's why Robbins uses it. Well, later on, I got to meet one of Tony's trainers, a guy by the name of Ted Macy and his wife, Mary.

They're both trainers for Tony and I'm talking to Ted, [00:12:00] super nice guy. And I commented, I said, man, it must be incredible to be able to come and be part of this and around this kind of encouragement and enthusiasm. He goes, Oh yeah, I get to do this, 10, 12 times a year. And he said, and Hey, see those people over there standing with the black shirts, with the pink writing on the back.

Yeah. He goes, they're volunteers, man. They are people just like you. They came to the event and they want to come back and volunteer. There's about 300 of them here. He said, so when you get home, just go call Robbins Research and ask them to send you a volunteer crew application. I did it. Sent it back.

Nine weeks later, I get a letter in the mail. It says, Dave Alvin, congratulations. You've been selected to crew with the Anthony Robbins companies. Boom. My foot's in the door. And one thing led to another. when they take your application, they kind of place you, right? They kind of look at who you are and go, Oh, you'd fit over there.

You'd fit over here. I had two things they looked at. One, I had a security [00:13:00] and military background. So they put me on the security team helping take care of Tony's celebrities. Which is, we could talk for hours about that alone. And then they also, because I lived on a farm and I knew how to use tools and log splitters and hatchets and all that, they put me on the fire building team.

And so I crewed probably, I volunteered five, six times. The challenge was, I was spending 2, 000 every time I went. And my wife wasn't real keen to it. Because she she doesn't know who Tony Robbins is. Screw Tony Robbins. my husband's spending 2, 000, she didn't like it.

And then I got offered a subcontracting position to be on the security team and to help with the firewall. So they paid my way, paid for my airfare, paid my hotel, paid me a per diem, paid my food and gave me a little meaning to a salary. So I went from, paying two grand to zero and they did something really smart.

They gave me a ticket and I brought my wife. And she went, and at the end of that event, we were walking on the beach that evening, I'll never forget it. She looked at me, she goes, okay, I get it. [00:14:00] I drank the Kool Aid. This Tony Robbins guy's pretty, pretty sharp. If you want to go rock and roll with him.

You go, as long as you're paying your way, and at least we're making a little money, I'm good with it. And so that was all happening in the nineties, mid nineties to late nineties. And then in 2003, Tony offered me the fire captain position, which meant that I would take over all of his firewalks globally.

And in addition to that, because I was homeschooling my kids and I was very concerned about that, Tony paid for my kids and my family to travel with us. So, there we are. My family is on the road with Tony Robbins. In fact, their first event with me was Sydney, Australia,

Jeffrey Feldberg: Wow. Unbelievable. What a journey.

Dave Albine: pretty

much. 2005, that was an interesting time. We went to London. We went to the Docklands, to the Excel Center, and we set the world record. That's where we firewalked 12, 300 people. Now, I say world record, I want to disclose, Guinness was not there, Guinness Book was not there but [00:15:00] to my knowledge, no one's come anywhere close to firewalking 12, 300 people.

The only thing that would come close to that's another Tony Robbins seminar.

So, that happened.

Jeffrey Feldberg: absolutely. And I mean, wow, what a journey. You're changing lives. Your life was changed. And you did that for nearly two decades, and then you branch out on your own. And so you've taken really a world class event that you now have done for decades. You put that into really your own flavor.

You're out there now, you're changing lives. You're helping individuals, you're helping companies. What's going on with that? So whether I'm an entrepreneur or perhaps I'm saying, you know what, I'm going to sign up my leadership team, Dave, we're going to go with Firewalk Adventures and you're going to lead us through this, what's happening when we enter compared to what's happening when we leave, what's going on with your process with the Firewalk.

Okay.

Dave Albine: Well, Google helped me with that. In 2014, I'm driving down the road, they called me and they said, [00:16:00] hey, are you the Dave Albin that does the firewalks for Tony Robbins? Yeah. What can I do for you? Well, if you're not under any contractual obligation or non compete, we'd like to talk to you about hiring you.

Oh. Okay, well, Homeboy's a free agent, what you got going on? And so they, went on to tell me they had 148 executives, they were graduating from a really intense curriculum that they had just, were going through they wanted to do a lunch, they wanted to have some cocktails, and they wanted to anchor in that graduation with an experience.

Interesting. So, they're calling me and I'm like, well, listen, you want to do this in the middle of the day, I won't do a firewalk in the middle of the day, it's a safety issue. I got to be able to see the coals, unquestionably. Now, I tell you what we could do a glasswalk. They're like, a glasswalk?

You mean walk on broken glass? I go, exactly. They're like, Ooh, tell us about that. So I did. And they went for it. And so while I was at Google, I had a conversation with one of the executives and they're the one who told me, he said, look, I know you work for Tony, but let me share something with you.

There's a huge [00:17:00] marketplace for corporate team building at your level because most corporate team building, they go golfing and they go. Go on scavenger hunts and they play Jeopardy. But you create a paradigm shift. You create an experience that will change someone's life. And you're at the top of your game, man.

You're at the top of the mountain. So, we're just letting you know that you may want to consider that. Google's telling you, you might want to start your own corporate team building. You should probably listen to

Jeffrey Feldberg: Absolutely.

Dave Albine: And so you're right. So that was, 19 years later, 2014, Firewalk Productions was born.

And right after Google, next thing I know I'm at NASA and I'm at Notre Dame and then I'm at Virginia Tech, Microsoft, Heineken, REMAX, Chick fil A. Hell the next thing I'm on the Deep Wealth Podcast. So you know what I mean? you don't know, what's coming and that was all organic. so the bottom line, since 2014 and the company was conceptualized and put into play, no pun intended, but we've been going hot and heavy ever [00:18:00] since.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Absolutely. Love that. And so Dave, I'm now putting myself in the shoes of one of our listeners and they're hearing us talk and in their mind they're, they're, you know, okay. Firewalk. Okay. Yeah, whatever. It's something that you and I can talk about. And we are talking about that. I suspect until you're really there to really feel what it feels like to walk across those thousand degree plus hot coals and that euphoria and all the feelings and the fear going into it and the excitement coming out of that, that you and I aren't going to do any justice to that, but we're going to do our best.

So for whether it's, again, an entrepreneur, a founder, a leader who's listening in, whether it's for herself or himself, whether it's for a leadership team or for a company, talk to us about why they should even think about doing this, because, the first gut reaction is, yeah, it sounds a little bit too fantastical.

Let me leave that out there and I'll stick with the more mundane and traditional kinds of things. So what are we [00:19:00] missing out? What don't we know that if we knew that would have us come to a better decision point?

Dave Albine: Well, I think most entrepreneurs know, especially CEOs and These types, they know that what doesn't challenge you doesn't change You're not going to just go to a seminar and listen to somebody talk on stage and expect to change 30 or 300 people's lives.

You're not going to create an incredible culture, right?

You don't become a Navy SEAL by sitting in a classroom. You become a Navy SEAL by taking your happy ass out into the ocean off the coast of San Onofre at 3 o'clock in the morning and swim with nine different variations of killer sharks. That's what builds character. So, that's really what it comes down to.

Now, if we look at firewalking. from a history standpoint, it's been around for a thousand years. What are they using it for? What did the Phoenicians use it for? The people of India, the Polynesians, the Hawaiians, Native American Indians, the Indo Europeans, the people of Portugal, Spain, all of them, they use it as a rite of passage.

It's a graduation. so, that's what happens because when it's your turn to walk. It's fight or flight, baby, and it's your [00:20:00] turn. And so, when you can step through that, get to the other end and celebrate, the payoff is immediate. Now, I did take it to another level from what Tony was doing. And what I added to it, Jeff, was the board break.

And here's why I did that. Martial artists are familiar with the board break. Almost every dojo in America has a board break, right? Every time you get a belt, you graduate, you use the board break. So, if you go from a white belt to a yellow belt, you're probably going to break the board with your hands.

You might break it with your elbow. You might break it with your knee. You might break it with your foot, whatever, but they use that. So, what I did is I took the board break and here's what I added to it. Number one, I have them write something on front of the board that they want to move towards. That can be collectively, as a company, and or personally.

Then I have them write something on the back of the board that they need to move away from. Every single one of us has something we need to look at and stop doing. So write it on the board. It ends tonight. And then I have them write anybody's name on the board that they're in conflict with. So if [00:21:00] reconciliation or forgiveness is part of that relationship, it ends tonight.

Stop carrying that with you. And then to create the right of passage, I have them write anybody's name on the board that they've lost. So, we take them outside, we get them all ready, I pre frame that, typically in the room, we go outside, we set up the board break stations, they break the board, we walk them in a circle, then we come back to the firewalk, they do their firewalk, they come back.

And they throw the board into the fire. And of course, we're getting this on video and we're getting photographs of this as well, so that they'll have that. Then, once they do that, before they leave that night, we give them one of these. Now, I know we're audio here, but maybe you can hear that.

It's a container. It's a little square plastic containers that you can see through. And we put the coals from the firewalk into this container. And then it says, I firewalked in 2023 with XYZ Corporation, and then we give that to the clients, and then that way they can set it on [00:22:00] their desk or their credenza, and they'll have something to look at every single day.

Now there's one other thing that I do out at the firewalk before I say goodnight, and it's proprietary, but I take them through a process, and I get every single participant and we calibrate their hearts. Which

just means that.

we get every, everybody's heart to beat at the same time.

That, in and of itself, Jeff, is literally one of the most life changing evenings that any human will go through, so that when they go back to work Monday morning, as a group, they're a completely different group, culturally, of human beings.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Dave, I'm going to venture something out there. You can tell me if I'm on base or off base with this. I'm going to use an analogy before Neil Bannister ran the four minute mile. People said it was impossible. Couldn't be done. Doctors said, you're going to drop dead if you even try it. Don't try it. All of a sudden, someone breaks the four minute mile.

And then right after that, in quick succession, other [00:23:00] people were doing the same, if not better. So my venture here is that coming out of your experience, the whole experience from the firewalk to breaking the boards, to really how the heart's being at the same beat at the same time, all in unison together, that when you come out of that.

You've literally rewired and reprograms people's mindset that they're looking same eyes, the same body, but they're looking at life now differently as a different person. I'm going to venture to say as a better person, can you talk to us about that? What's changed in people's mindsets?

Dave Albine: it's interesting. I love Bannister and the whole idea that, you would die if you ran, that far. And it's interesting because when people come back to Firewalk a second time,

a lot of them bring in that attitude. I've already done this, . Yeah. Well, the fire doesn't care. So, you better bring the same intensity that you did. And, we see this in a lot of... Things, right? we see it in MMA fighting and professional athletes and so on and so forth, right? So it's all [00:24:00] about, being all in and so when you come back to do the firewalk, you better bring the same intensity because if you don't, I mean, I get asked all the time, hey, has anybody ever gotten seriously hurt?

No, they haven't. Absolutely not. Is firewalking dangerous? No. Does it sound and look dangerous? Yeah, a little bit. Can you get hurt? You can get a small blister on your foot,

Put a little Neosporin on it, put a little Sensodyne on it, it's gone the next day. so the wonderful, and I'm so glad you asked this, is that when you firewalk a second time, third time, fourth time, fifth time, whatever, the whole dynamic changes.

For you, because everything that's going on in it, and that's really, getting what I call state management.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Sure.

Dave Albine: your state, control what you're thinking, control what's going on. And Firewalk allows you to do that. It sets you up to do that. And then, of course, we do have the other experiences, the Glasswalk.

got a lot of firewalking friends, that's for sure. Being in Tony's world all these years and firewalking hundreds of thousands of people, I got a ton of them. But the Glasswalk? [00:25:00] Oh, that scares the hell out of people, Because we've all cut ourselves as a kid, or, dropped a glass in the kitchen when we were kids and mom's screaming at you, get out know? but so, and then we do the arrow break too, right? You may have seen, that's where you put the arrow in the soft spot of your neck,

Jeffrey Feldberg: Yes.

Dave Albine: And you write some things on it, and I take you through a process, and then you put it up against the wall, and then you step through and you break it. And of course. The fear factor with that is what happens if that arrow pierces my trachea?

And between you and I, it takes about 24 pounds per square inch to break that arrow the way we set them up to do it. For it to pierce your trachea, it would be about 130 pounds per square inch. And of course, we do use a special arrow. It's about creating the experience, but I'll tell you, it really works well with women who have been abused because if a woman's ever been choked out or a man her neck or whatever, that aerobreak, when you get something close up and around their neck, it can create an amazing breakthrough for a woman.

Jeffrey Feldberg: And so let me ask you this, Dave, over the years that [00:26:00] you've been doing this, over the decades that you've been doing this, you've literally changed people's lives for the better. Is there any success story, and I'm sure you have many success stories, any success story that comes to mind? We don't have to name company names or individuals.

We can keep that part private, but yeah, so and so came to me and had these challenges and the very next day after completing the event, went on to do this, and that. Anything that would come to mind?

Dave Albine: There's countless, literally. can reference a couple, let's start with my own kids. My daughter was six years old. The first time she firewalked, my son was nine. And if you saw him today. And you ask them, did firewalking influence them?

You better believe it did because it influenced their self worth and who they are and what they can become. One of my friends is Wade Meadows, man he's an executive with Google. He came to an event where we did a whole bunch of different things. He was part of a leadership program in Caldwell County, North Carolina.

And Google's down there, and so anyway, he did the glass walk, the arrow break, the board break, and the fire walk. Well, what he'll tell you he's a testimonial. When I had him write the name on the [00:27:00] board of somebody that he needed to reconcile with, he put his dad.

And so he literally, after the border, breaking the firewall.

He reconciled with his father and he stopped smoking. We had a young man years ago we were in Tampa and there was a young man down there, collegiate athlete, high school collegiate athlete, and he got hit by a drunk driver and he lost both legs. And so he was contemplating suicide because his life was over.

That's what he was telling himself. Can't run anymore. He can't do this. Never be able to perform as a man, never get married, blah, blah, blah. Well, one of his buddies said, Hey, Tony Robbins has come to town and I know you like Tony, why don't go see him before you make a decision that you can't undo.

And so I'm out there, it's late at night. I'm doing my thing. I'm shoveling the coals for Tony's lane. And all of a sudden, Tony kind of stops and he looks at me and he goes, got this funny look on his face. In other words, like, we're about ready to see something really phenomenal here. The next thing I know, again, it's really dark out there.

I see the kid in this, I don't know what kind of a wheelchair it is. I'd call it a turbo wheelchair maybe a [00:28:00] titanium, aluminum, whatever, he could move it, man. and he had a lot of. Upper body strength. So it wasn't just a regular old wheelchair. It was one he could maneuver.

And Tony bent down to talk to him and the kid just shoved him off, like, go. Nope. I don't need any help from you, pal. I got this. And he literally, he wheeled that wheelchair right up to that, those coals, and he positioned his torso and boom, he flipped himself forward. He landed on his hands and he walked across fire on his hands.

at the same time, Jeff, those are great that's magnificent, but you know, got to see what it's like to see a hundred year old woman she's not all enthusiastic going, with a lot of intensity, she just walked up, put her hands up in the air, And completely submitted to the process and very slowly walked across the fire.

It's beautiful. So, yeah, we've seen it all. Maybe this will be a better answer to your question. There was a young man that his family told him that, he wanted to be a screenwriter and he thought he could make it in Hollywood. This family said, you're out of your mind.

You'll never make it. There's no way. Any of us have family members like that tell us, you know, that we're not going to [00:29:00] be able to do what we want to say we want to do? Tony went to a Tony Robbins seminar, did the firewalk, went home, wrote Sleepless in Seattle. So you know, you just never know how that firewalk experience is going to influence somebody, but it will influence.

And I've never seen anyone that it hasn't. Influenced.

Jeffrey Feldberg: And so Dave, really, you are transforming lives. You're paying it forward. I know offline, you're sharing with me how you've created a special program to really make a difference in their lives of the tragic loss. You're sharing with me that 40 or more veterans are taking their lives. You want to make a dent in that and stop that. And so you're really out there making a difference. But let me ask you this before we go into wrap up mode, and I would love to go down so many rabbit holes with you, but we're starting to bump up against some time here.

Every episode, we like our listener to walk away with one actionable item. So before they go to that next meeting, pick up that next call, whatever the case may be, that full inbox of emails that they're going to tackle. [00:30:00] If they could do one thing, once you and I wrap up this episode, one thing that would really make a difference for them, maybe low hanging fruit, low effort, high return, based on all that you're doing and that you've done and what you've seen, what would be one thing that someone can think about doing or actually just do when all is said and done with us and our episode today?

Dave Albine: It's hard

to say only one.

Jeffrey Feldberg: I'll take three. Whatever,

Dave Albine: fair enough. one of the best ones that really influenced me influences a lot is read 10 pages in a good book every day and discipline yourself and don't negotiate with yourself. Stop negotiating. If you say you're going to get out of bed at six o'clock in the morning and go to the gym, then get your happy ass out of bed.

Stop this negotiation crap, right? Because it doesn't work. You're setting yourself up for failure. The first thing I do every morning, I make my bed. what I do. I take a cold shower every day. I read my 10 pages. I've disciplined myself. I've set up rituals. And I would get into understanding state management.

Controlling [00:31:00] your state in times of struggle.

That's where the essence of a man is, right? It's easy to be a good guy when everything's going great, how do you act when things aren't going well? I think Viktor Frankl gave us such wisdom in Man's Search for Meaning. You want to start with a book, start there.

Because here's a man, he's in Auschwitz. He's, they assassinated his family. He's living with every single day. He may go to the chamber. He's naked. He's cold. He's hungry. And they took everything from him except one thing. And he realized the one thing they could not take from him, even though they took everything else from him, they couldn't take his attitude. Victor has to give that to you. We have to give that up. You have to relinquish that. So, maintain a good attitude and choose good people to hang around and as I said, I think you said it, when we started, stop looking for heroes and be one.

Jeffrey Feldberg: It's incredible. You use one of my favorite words, [00:32:00] ritual, because the very intentional decisions that we make, no matter how small and they become rituals, like you're saying what you do every day, those rituals, those days become weeks, become months, become years, become decades. It really becomes our life and it forms our life.

And so

absolutely

Dave Albine: is everything. in fact, I got a call last night from a friend and she wanted to do something and she wants to go start this business. Business. And she said, so what's the one thing that you would tell me to do? And I'd say, be consistent. And if you want to make sure you succeed, don't quit, don't do it.

You can push the pause button, you can take a step back, but just stay in the game. Don't quit and you'll achieve it.

Jeffrey Feldberg: terrific. Well, Dave, let me ask you this. We're going to go into wrap up mode and I literally have the privilege and the honor to ask the same question of every guest that I ask of you. It's a fun question. Let me set this up for you. When you think of the movie Back to the Future, you have that magical DeLorean car that can take you to any point in time.

Dave, here's the fun [00:33:00] part. It's tomorrow morning. You look outside your window. Not only is the DeLorean car there. The door's open, it's curbside, it's waiting for you to hop on in what you do, and now you can go back to any point in your life. Dave, as a young child, a teenager, whatever point in time it would be, what would you tell your younger self for life lessons or life wisdom, or hey Dave, do this but don't do that?

What would it sound like?

Dave Albine: I don't know that I change anything, but I tell you what I, would want to do, and this is going to be an emotional answer for me, and that is I'd like to see my dad. I'd like to go back to that moment that, he made two months before I was born. And I was in the womb and he told mom, I'm going to the grocery store and we never saw her from him again.

I never got to see that. I've never seen a picture of him. I've never seen any of that, but I made a really good decision about that, Jeff. And that was, I chose gratitude and love for my father. It wasn't his fault. He did the best he could. And that's my story. And I'm sticking with it. And because of that, I'll tell you something that happened to me.

That was phenomenal. A couple of years ago, I went out to dinner [00:34:00] with my son and we're in Boone, North Carolina. Mike Seafood. And I'm sitting there and I always have a really good time with the server. I just do that. I treat them nicely. My mom was a server, so I have a lot of love and appreciation for that job.

so many people treat them disrespectfully and I do just the opposite, right? And so we're having fun. It's all good. I'm sitting there, we're eating and I look at my son and I look down and I look back and it dawns on me. I'm having dinner with my dad's grandson.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Huh. Wonderful.

Dave Albine: could see my dad. I could see him.

And so, because I chose gratitude and because I chose love for my dad I believe that moment was given to me.

Jeffrey Feldberg: What a gift you've given to us. Choose gratitude, choose love. We can choose anything. Such powerful emotions. What wisdom. Thank you, Dave. Thank you. Not only for that, but you've been so vulnerable and open with us today. And he really left nothing on the table. These are stories and wisdom and strategies from the trenches.

You live them. You're sharing them with us. And, you know, as we [00:35:00] love to say here at Deep Wealth, firstly, it's a wrap and congratulations with that. But Dave, let me ask you this. We're going to make it so easy for our listeners. Everything will be in the show notes. A listener wants to reach out, they have a question, better yet, they want to do an event with you for themselves or their leadership team or the entire company.

Where's the best place online that they can reach out and have a conversation with you?

Dave Albine: Yeah, sure. Just go to our website. It's the best place. It's firewalkadventures[dot]com. So, the firewalkadventures is one word, dot com, and everything's there. My academy, have an academy. In fact, it starts next Tuesday. I got a whole bunch of people coming up here to the Appalachian mountains and I'm going to train them and they're going to become firewalk extraordinaires.

So they're coming from other companies. Some of them are trainers and coaches and entrepreneurs and CEOs. It's really cool. And so they're all coming in next Tuesday. So, we've been sold out for quite a while. So they can look at that. And then if anybody wants to get ahold of me, my calendar's there.

We're really, really accessible.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Terrific. And again, for our listeners, it doesn't [00:36:00] get any easier. It's a point and click, go to the show notes. Hey, if you want to change your life, change the questions that you're asking, change the experiences that you're going through. Dave is world class. He's really one of a kind. He will lead you, lead your team through it.

And it's an investment in yourself and in your future. Well, Dave, on that very high note, as we love to say here at Deep Wealth, may you continue to thrive and prosper while you remain healthy and safe. Thank you so much.

Dave Albine: Thank you, Jeff.

Sharon S.: The Deep Wealth Experience was definitely a game-changer for me.

Lyn M.: This course is one of the best investments you will ever make because you will get an ROI of a hundred times that. Anybody who doesn't go through it will lose millions.

Kam H.: If you don't have time for this program, you'll never have time for a successful liquidity

Sharon S.: It was the best value of any business course I've ever taken. The money was very well spent.

Lyn M.: Compared to when we first began, today I feel better prepared, but in some respects, may be less prepared, not because of the course, but [00:37:00] because the course brought to light so many things that I thought we were on top of that we need to fix.

Kam H.: I 100% believe there's never a great time for a business owner to allocate extra hours into his or her week or day. So it's an investment that will yield results today. I thought I will reap the benefit of this program in three to five years down the road. But as soon as I stepped forward into the program, my mind changed immediately.

Sharon S.: There was so much value in the experience that the time I invested paid back so much for the energy that was expended.

Lyn M.: The Deep Wealth Experience compared to other programs is the top. What we learned is very practical. Sometimes you learn stuff that it's great to learn, but you never use it. The stuff we learned from Deep Wealth Experience, I believe it's going to benefit us a boatload.

Kam H.: I've done an executive MBA. I've worked for billion-dollar companies before. I've worked for smaller companies before I started my business. I've been running my business [00:38:00] successfully now for getting close to a decade. We're on a growth trajectory. Reflecting back on the Deep Wealth, I knew less than 10% what I know now, maybe close to 1% even.

Sharon S.: Hands down the best program in which I've ever participated. And we've done a lot of different things over the years. We've been in other mastermind groups, gone to many seminars, workshops, conferences, retreats, read books. This was so different. I haven't had an experience that's anything close to this in all the years that we've been at this.

It's five-star, A-plus.

Kam H.: I would highly recommend it to any super busy business owner out there.

Deep Wealth is an accurate name for it. This program leads to deeper wealth and happier wealth, not just deeper wealth. I don't think there's a dollar value that could be associated with such an experience and knowledge that could be applied today and forever.

Jeffrey Feldberg: Are you leaving millions on the table?
