Teresa Riley Origins
Jeffrey Feldberg: Teresa Riley has spent decades building businesses, leading organizations, and turning ideas into action across more than 50 ventures spanning public relations, renewable energy, wellness technology, and other industries. She's also taken her ideas to the TEDx stage and audiences around the world.
But the most consequential chapter of Teresa's life did not begin in a boardroom. It began with cancer. Her diagnosis, surgery, profound personal upheaval, and later health challenges forced her to question assumptions she had made about success, health, and the human body. That journey ultimately led her deep into the subject of hypoxia, the lack of adequate oxygen in tissue, and transformed both her life's work and the questions she believes all of us should be asking about our health.
She tells that deeply personal story in her book, From Tumor to Triumph: My Oxygen [00:01:00] Awakening, exploring illness, resilience, self-advocacy, transformation, and what can happen when someone refuses to accept that the first answer is necessarily the final answer.
Teresa's story raises a question every high achiever eventually has to face: what's the value of building an extraordinary business if the person building it is quietly running out of capacity?
And before we hop into the podcast, a quick word from our sponsor, Deep Wealth and the Deep Wealth Mastery Program. We have William, a graduate of Deep Both Mastery, and he says, I didn't have the time for Deep Both Mastery, but I made the time and I'm glad I did.
What I learned goes far beyond any other executive program or coach I've ever experienced. Or how about Bruce? Bruce says, before Deep Wealth Mastery, the challenge I had with most business programs, coaches, or blogs was that they were one dimensional. Through Deep Wealth Mastery, I'm part of a richer community of other successful business owners.
The idea shared forever changed the trajectory of [00:02:00] the business and best of all, the experience was fun. And we'll round things out with Stacey.
Stacey said, I wish I had access to the Deep Wealth Mastery before my liquidity event, as it would have been extremely helpful. Deep Wealth Mastery exceeded my expectations in terms of content and quality.
And you know what, my Deep Wealth Nation, why they're saying this is because Deep Wealth Mastery, it's the only system based on a nine figure deal. That was my deal. And as you know, I said no to a seven figure offer, and I created a system that we now call Deep Wealth Mastery that helped myself and my business partners, welcome from a different buyer, a different offer, a nine figure exit.
So if you're interested in growing your profits, preparing for a future liquidity event, if that's two years away or 20 years away, and you want to optimize your post exit life, Deep Wealth Mastery is for you. Podcast Welcome Health
Jeffrey Feldberg: Deep Wealth Nation, welcome to another episode of the Deep Wealth Podcast. Deep Wealth Nation, you've heard me say it before, I'm gonna say it again. Your health is your first wealth. But the question, the real question, what are you doing about that?
What does that look like? What does that mean? Where do you go? What do you do? We have a very special guest in the House of Deep Wealth. We have a fellow founder, not just a founder, an author, a thought leader, a CEO, and someone who's had an incredible health journey that we're gonna talk all about.
I'm gonna put a plug in it right there. Teresa, welcome to the Deep Wealth Podcast. An absolute pleasure to have you with us. There's always a story behind the story. My goodness, you have quite the story. So [00:04:00] what's your story? Why don't you share with Deep Wealth Nation what got you from where you were to where you are today?
Early Hustle Comedy
Teresa Reile: Hi, Jeffrey. Thanks for having me. I started off as a little girl always just my... I was so precocious. My mother was like, "You never sleep. You're always doing this. You're always doing that," and it followed through in my life doing that. And when I lived up in New York, I had three different lawnmowers, and I used to joke, I used to say, "Boldly mowing where no one has mowed before."
And I broke a lot of the blades on my mowers, but you know what? In the end, it always looked absolutely beautiful, and that's how I like to describe my life. I jump in on things, even if I don't know where I'm going, but I tend to come out the other end okay. Even I'll get myself into the weeds and break down a little bit, but in the end, I always persist, and I come out the other end. So with that being said I have [00:05:00] done so many different things in my life, and like you said, we wanna have the F word in here, the fun word. I used to be a stand-up comedian, and because I love making people laugh, and I love m- laughing myself, It's one of my first loves. I wanted to be on Saturday Night Live when I was little, but that didn't happen, so I did a foray into stand-up comedy, which was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, harder than anything. Because it teaches you to have stage presence and to speak in front of people that you're supposed to make laugh, and if they're not laughing, oh, my God, you still have to be up there, and you still have to have your composure and not break down.
And so that was one of the hardest things, which I carried into everything that I've been doing since.
Recycling Market Pioneer
Teresa Reile: So when I was- Back in 1993, I got together with my [00:06:00] then husband, and we started a company that started out to be a waste company. But back in 1993, the buzzword back then was recycling, and waste was a swear word back then.
So I, having my background in public relations, I said to my husband, "You know what? Let's rebrand it as a construction and demolition waste recycling company." Very niche, but solve the problem for these construction companies that have nowhere to take their waste. And we were pioneers. We were the first ones that did this.
I actually came up with the idea, which you probably see now on the side of dumpsters, like rent me, right? That was me. I did that. And we started off, and some of the big waste companies up there said, "You're gonna be laughed out of the business in six months. You're gonna be underwater. You're not gonna make it happen.
[00:07:00] You're not gonna do it." I came up with an idea of a guerrilla marketing idea where because we were recycling, I took old wood, and I made these card stands, and I brought them around. I had pretty girls that went around to all the construction supply houses, all the demo places, like everywhere, and we talked them into letting us put these cards that said, "Construction waste a problem?
Bring it to us." Now, that might not seem very innovative today, but back then, it was very innovative. We built up such an army of these stores, and they would call us when they ran out of cards. We were doing 10,000 cards a month. "Hey, we're out of these cards." So we'd send a pretty girl with some gifts and there...
And in six months, we had 60% of the market share.
Jeffrey Feldberg: Wow
Teresa Reile: yeah, and so it was [00:08:00] amazing. We started off with just a couple trucks, a couple cans, dumpsters, and one transfer station.
Scaling Waste Empire
Teresa Reile: We ended up selling that company six years later for eight digits, right?
And we then started a full-fledged waste company after that, and we used the same bu- things that worked in our recycling company, but of course, we had to do it a little different because it was waste, but we did that, and then we built that company from scratch into the fourth-largest privately owned waste company in the country.
We ended up having a railroad. We had three landfills. We had 3,000 rail cars. We were in nine different states. We were just all over the place. And me, boldly mowing where no one has mowed before, like I had no business being in the waste business, 'cause I we didn't know what we were doing.
We really didn't. But and it's funny because I was at a mastermind last week, [00:09:00] and we did this exercise, and I realized "Oh my gosh, I don't know what I'm doing." And then I realized, but I never know what I'm doing. But it always comes out okay, right? So we did that, and it was so rewarding. It was hard.
It was fun. It was debilitating at times, but we did it. And we did so many different things together. We were really a good team, and we had all these other different companies that we were doing at the same time. We were in racing and the campground business, all sorts of different things, right?
But I digress. But what I learned from that is you have such infinite ability. If you decide you can do something... And, I like to say I don't like to build businesses, I like to create markets, right? 'Cause In the recycling, that was a new thing back then. Nobody was doing what we were doing.
It was new, [00:10:00] and we created this whole thing, and we filled a need that people really needed. And it took off like a rocket, and we were so excited about that. And so today what I'm doing is I'm creating a new category of health, and it's super exciting, and it's different than selling into an existing market, right?
Those have its challenges because you have competition, and you have to go up against the other brands and whatnot, but creating a niche or a new category is totally different because you not only create the category, but you have to educate the public as to what you're doing and then sell the idea, and I love that. I love that. It's just it's like a new frontier that you're going off on, and that's what I'm doing today.
Divorce Cancer Crisis
Teresa Reile: And [00:11:00] how I got here was after we built these companies with my husband and whatnot, we were such a great team until we weren't.
And it came like a rocket. It hit me in the face.
It was like a train coming at me that I didn't see coming. We had three kids at home and just, everything went down the tubes like, almost overnight. It didn't really happen overnight, but that's what it felt like. And then I was like, "Oh my God, I gotta reinvent myself again. What am I gonna do now?"
And I got diagnosed with stage four hypoxia. It was stage four cancer, right? But now I realize that what I really had was hypoxia, which is lack of oxygen in my tissue, and I was so debilitated, under stress, trying to take care of these kids, and I didn't know what to do. And I had gone from [00:12:00] living this luxurious life to, oh my God, this hectic life of taking care of three kids, single mom, having to start over again, and middle age, oh my God. So I had an operation, and the operation ripped out half of my insides, and they lost me on the operating table. They had to bring me back to life. Then I didn't realize it at the time, but they had nicked my colon during the operation. And so after the operation, I was having trouble with my intestines, and they're like, "Oh, don't worry about it.
It happens all the time." And I'm like, "Ah, whatever." But a few years after that, my intestines exploded inside and I almost died. Yeah, it was, like, really not fun at all. That ruined my whole weekend, I have to tell you. I,
Jeffrey Feldberg: I imagine it did.
Teresa Reile: Yeah, right. [00:13:00]
Hospital Ordeal Recovery
Teresa Reile: and I ended up going into the hospital, and I was there for a month with no painkillers, no water, no food, with tubes sticking out all over me, and luckily they didn't have to operate on me, thank God.
The doctor was absolutely amazing. He saved my life, but he had to pump me up with antibiotics, and I was on antibiotics forever. And, Then the worst part of it is they told me that they were gonna wheel me down to do a colonoscopy, and this was after being there for a month. And I was like, "Oh, no problem," they're gonna put me to sleep and whatever. But mind you, I had no painkillers, no food, no water for a month, okay? So they wheel me down there to do the colonoscopy, and They told me, "Oh, we can't do it the regular way because you have a stricture in your colon," as a, byproduct from that surgery that I had.
So they said, "We have to do what's called a virtual [00:14:00] colonoscopy, and where we take pictures." And I'm like, "Oh, great. That's even easier, right? I don't have to do anything." I was never more wrong. They put me in the MRI machine, and then they wheeled me out, and the doctor, looking at a screen, takes a literal hand drill.
I was awake, okay? I was fully awake. She takes a hand drill and starts drilling through my right buttock, and I'm like, "What are you doing?" I was screaming. She's like, "Stay still." And she had to drill through my buttock to get into my abdominal cavity to put a tube in there over to my intestine on the left side of my body.
That was excruciatingly painful, and I'm thinking, "You know what? I never, ever wanna go through this again, ever." And so I had to recover from that. That was a six-week recovery, blah, blah, blah, right? That was back in 2016. I had my first operation in 2012. Then 2016, I had that, and I had to recover [00:15:00] again.
Serendipitous House Sale
Teresa Reile: And by 2022, I'm back to my normal self again, or so I thought.
And I had started purchasing real estate, and I just love decorating houses and things. It's like, my passion. So I had bought some real estate, and I'm happy and doing that and whatnot. And then I got my tax bill for my house up in New York, and they had doubled my taxes. And so I said, "What?
This is like, crazy." So I said to the world, "I wish somebody would just see this place and buy it." And no kidding, 20 minutes later, my phone rings, and it's a realtor. And he says, I know your house isn't for sale, but this guy saw your house, and he wants to buy it, and he's a qualified buyer." And I'm like, "What?"
Discovering Drinkable Oxygen
Teresa Reile: So he came within the hour, saw it, made me a cash offer, and I said, "Okay." So that [00:16:00] led me- To where I am today, that fortuitous moment that I put out to the universe, and it answered immediately, and I stumbled upon this amazing technology that is drinkable oxygen. And oxygen, as you may know, is life. You can go weeks without food, days without water, but you can only go minutes without oxygen.
And I am fortunate, yes, I am fortunate right now to have the only product in the world that every single person in the world needs, and they can only live minutes without, oxygen. And so I started studying all about hypoxia, lack of oxygen in your tissue not in your blood, in your tissue. And it was such a fascinating study [00:17:00] that I jumped on a plane right after I heard about it, and I flew to Europe to meet the inventor of this stabilized drinkable oxygen, and he told me before I went, he said, "You know what?
You've had stage four hypoxia before. Why don't you get a PET CT scan, let me look at it?" And I was like, "Okay, but I'm doing fine." He's like, "Yeah, okay, let me just look at it." So I get over there, and he says, "You know, I want you to do this, and this. I want you to drink the oxygen, I want you to bathe in it.
Let's just do this, and in two to three weeks, I wanna do another scan. Let's see how you're doing." So he shows me the before and after, and sure enough, the before scan, my hypoxia was coming back with a vengeance, and the after, my hypoxia was gone. yeah, and so I'm like, "Oh my God. I have to study about this."
So he trained me. He taught me [00:18:00] everything that I know about it today, and I'm sure not everything he knows, but I decided in that moment that I was gonna bring this to the world. Now, this is another thing, boldly going where I knew had no purpose being in this, because I really didn't know how I was gonna do it, but I was bound and determined to manufacture this in the United States so I could bring it to the world.
I had never been in manufacturing before, but guess what? That's what I'm doing today.
Jeffrey Feldberg: My goodness, so much to unpack. And for cis Deep Wealth Nation, go to the show notes. Everything is there. When you're in the show notes, click on the link, and why not pick up Teresa's book, From Tumor to Triumph: My Oxygen Awakening. And you'll be able to relate because we're speaking about a fellow founder, business owner, and someone who has been where we're at and went through this crazy health journey.
And by the way, Deep Wealth [00:19:00] Nation, speaking of health, while we're on the topic, whatever Teresa and I are talking about today, it's our opinions only. It's two friends around a fireside chat sharing our own experiences. This is not medical advice. Always check with a medical professional before you do anything.
But check out the book, From Tumor to Triumph: My Oxygen Awakening.
Hypoxia Explained Simply
Jeffrey Feldberg: And Teresa, before we go on, people may have heard of hypoxia. They may not have in Deep Wealth Nation. What does it mean? In the simplest of terms, what are you talking about here?
Teresa Reile: It means lack of oxygen in your cell, okay? And inside of your cells, you have mitochondria, which you've probably heard about, which are the power plants of your cell. They need oxygen. That's what they eat. They need oxygen, and they need a spark to create ATP, which is energy. They need oxygen to create energy, and if they don't have enough oxygen, they cannot create the energy that's needed [00:20:00] to build your immune system to sufficient heights so that your body can heal itself.
So if you are fatigued or you're not feeling well or whatever, hypoxia underlies almost every disease that, that could be imagined. And you have a scary diagnosis or something like that, maybe it might be good to look into hypoxia and boost your oxygen. And again, listen to your doctor, whatever, but don't do this in lieu of, do it in addition to, because it could really help you.
Jeffrey Feldberg: So it sounds like you're going down this path with some more not so great things ahead, but because some of the things that you were doing, what was starting to appear went away, and it was because of the oxygen therapy and tell us a little bit now with what you're doing with some of your companies when it comes to oxygen.
You had briefly touched upon that, but some very special things that you're [00:21:00] doing and, you know, straight from the source, share with Deep Wealth Nation what that is, what it's called, where they can get it.
PatriOx Brand Mission
Teresa Reile: We created a brand called PatriOx Drinkable Oxygen, and I named it PatriOx because I wanna build a army of health freedom patriots for health freedom. And so it's just been taking off like a rocket, and I started manufacturing, the manufacturing company here in the United States, and we're also opening up a spa in Florida, in Clearwater.
It's gonna be called LO2, Spa LO2, liquid oxygen, where you can come and bathe and learn all about hypoxia and how you can keep yourself healthy. And I think it's super important for entrepreneurs, founders, because if the CEO and the founder of the company is not healthy or he's fatigued or he's, under stress or whatever, you're not gonna function the [00:22:00] way that you could, and it trickles down into the whole organization, and, the attitude starts at the top.
And if you can have a good attitude and have it filled with energy and laughter and great culture, then you have half the battle won because your people will follow you, and they will do and mimic how you are, right? So I think it's super important for founders and CEOs to stay as healthy as they can, and I know firsthand that if you have hypoxia, you're not gonna feel as great as you could.
Manifestation Magic Moments
Jeffrey Feldberg: And we'll get back to Patrox in just a moment, and oxygen and the oxygen therapy, but I also want to go back to something that almost sounds, if there's such a word, too fantastical, like it doesn't exist, where, "Hey, universe, I don't want this house anymore," and bam, you manifested the sale of the house. Now, in your case, it happened very quickly.
It's not always the case like that. [00:23:00] But in, in terms of those kinds of things happening, was that something, was that a one-off for you, Teresa? Has that happened before in terms of putting something out to the universe and then it'll manifest itself? Tell us about that. I'm curious.
Teresa Reile: Jeffrey, honestly, my life has been filled with magical moments like that. I was in Germany one day, and I was walking by this door. I was in the town where my father was born, in Bavaria, and I was walking by this, this place, and it was a door that looked kinda like a cave.
And something said to me, "Go in there." And it was in the middle of the afternoon, and I was like, "What is it?" So I turned around, and I went in, and it was a little tavern. And there were, like, five guys sitting around the bar playing drinking games. And of course, I walked in, and I had to play the game.
And of course it was rigged, that I lost, and I had to buy everyone a beer. So the guy sitting next to me looks at me and he says, "You look very familiar to me." [00:24:00] And I started laughing. I go, "Yeah, you're gonna have to do a little bit better than that, and he goes, "No, I'm serious. You remind me of someone."
And I said, "Okay, I'll take the bait. Who do I remind you of?" And he said, "You remind me of my best friend from kindergarten, and we got separated during the war, and I have spent my life looking for him, and you have the mannerisms of him." And I said what was his name?" And he said, "His name was Alois." And I said, "Alois?" And he said, "Yes, Alois Reiler." And I looked at him, my eyes got wide, and I said, "That's my dad."
Jeffrey Feldberg: Wow
Teresa Reile: And my father, he said, "I've been looking for him." Now, the thing was, my father went by, my father moved to America and changed his name from Alois to Gerhard. That's why this guy could never find him.
And I was like, "Oh my God." And the guy started crying, [00:25:00] and he said, "I've been looking for him. He was my best friend." And I said he's coming to Germany tomorrow." So I connected those two, and three weeks later, that man died. They got together, and they cried, and they reminisced when they were little.
They remembered each other. He loved my father so much, and then he died three weeks later. And that was like One of the most fantastical stories, but my life has been filled with beautiful things like that.
Jeffrey Feldberg: Incredible. And for Deep Wealth Nation who are saying, "Yeah, whatever, you both seem like terrific people, but Teresa, you had me until that," is there something that you're doing in particular? Is there your own methodology or a way that you're approaching it to have this kind of, okay, I'm gonna think about it and serendipitously, or as one of my early mentors said, "Jeffrey, I'd rather be lucky than smart," that things just begin to happen, or it's just something intuitively [00:26:00] that's happening for you?
Light Touch Philosophy
Teresa Reile: what I have found and I hope your audience can use this, it is the lightest effort that you use to make things happen, that's what pulls the universe. It's not when you concentrate really hard and put a lot of effort. It's the very light, light, light touch. and that's what makes it happen, I've found that the, the more capricious a person is, the more fun a person is, that's when they get stuff done. Look at Richard Branson, he's always laughing, "Oh, just F it, do it," that's the way to get stuff done, and that's when these magical things happen is with the lightest touch, yep, just go do it
Jeffrey Feldberg: Absolutely love that. Okay, so we took a little side tour there, and that could be a whole other episode that we can be doing.
How Oxygen Stays Stable
Jeffrey Feldberg: So oxygen in the water, let's go back to Patriox in terms of water in the oxygen. And I can imagine someone in Deep Wealth Nation saying okay, I've heard of [00:27:00] obviously oxygen before, so you're putting some oxygen in the water, big deal."
But Teresa, it is a big deal because I would imagine if I put oxygen in water, it's just not gonna stay there in the normal process. So you must have a special process behind the scenes that from putting the oxygen in the water till I'm getting the bottle, it's still in the water. What's going on with that?
Teresa Reile: Absolutely correct. This technology took 25 years of research and engineering to get it stable.
Oxygen Water Basics
Teresa Reile: It's stabilized drinkable oxygen. We don't add anything to the water. We don't add oxygen into the water, which is really amazing. So it's not a carbonated thing where you open up the bottle and the oxygen fizzles out.
That's not what it is. It's y- when you get this, if you don't open it it'll last for years, but if you do open it and put the cap back on, it'll last for 57 days. If you get it and you open it and you lose [00:28:00] the cap, it'll stay completely stable for three to five days. So the only thing that really ruins it is sunlight, so just don't put it in the sunlight.
How To Drink It
Teresa Reile: And it doesn't really hydrate you because it's oxygen. It's such high oxygen content. And if you've ever had a, an oxygen cannula up your nose for any amount of time, you get really dry mouth because it's such high oxygen concentration. So you do have to hydrate yourself when you're drinking this with other liquids if you're drinking it over time, which we do recommend.
I recommend drinking a bottle a day, a, a liter and a half a day, and a cup and a half every hour and a half, and it'll oxygenate your whole body all day. Every cup and a half oxygenates the body for an hour and a half
Why Oxygen Matters
Jeffrey Feldberg: Okay, let's briefly talk about that. So for someone in Deep Wealth Nation, okay, yeah, sure, I know water is healthy, and maybe I can just take some deep breaths and do a better job of breathing. Teresa, I know I'm [00:29:00] oversimplifying this, and I'm missing a whole lot there. So what's the story behind the story?
Why is this special of this oxygen in this water? What's the-- Let's tune into the world's favorite radio station, WII.FM, the what's in it for me from the perspective of Deep Wealth Nation? Why would I want to do this? Why would I want to get the special water that's highly oxygenated? What's going on there?
Teresa Reile: Well, let me tell you, a friend of mine who's a doctor, he was an emergency room doctor, he told me after he read all the science, he said, we had this in the emergency room, we could have saved every patient." Because the problem is an effective delivery system of oxygen to the tissue. Now, the top geneticist and oncological researcher from Cambridge University, he did a study on this water, He's 40 years, the top senior researcher. He said this is the only thing that we have ever found that positively affects the [00:30:00] genes. And if you're looking for the fountain of youth, this is it. Because your mitochondria, they don't really age, they suffocate to death, right? 'Cause they need oxygen to eat.
And if you keep giving them the food that they need to create the energy that you had when you were a kid, imagine how you could be. When you're a kid, you get a cold. Ah, don't worry about it. Your nose is running. You go out and you run and play outside, right? Because your immune system was so strong it could create the energy that the body needed to keep it going.
So if you could do that today at your age and create the energy on a cellular level, why wouldn't you do it? Because you can keep your immune system so strong. And y- I tell people, you can Google Just about any disease and hypoxia, and I, challenge your audience to do it. Just pick a disease, any disease, and hypoxia, and you [00:31:00] will see a correlation.
You'll see a correlation between. That's why it is so important to understand about oxygen and hypoxia in the tissue.
Hypoxia In Modern Life
Teresa Reile: And you really weren't simplifying it when you said, deep breathing and whatnot. People today aren't getting enough oxygen. There's only 21% of pure oxygen in the atmosphere today, and people sit around a lot.
They're always on the computer. They're not getting exercise. There's toxins in the air. There's toxins in the water. There's toxins in the soil. People fly all the time, and they get hypoxic over there. Their cells are deprived wh- up in the air. That's why so many pilots and flight attendants get sick often, because they're hypoxic.
And so that, that really wasn't simplifying. So I can tell people like, do intentional breathing. Every time you move your body, you're getting more oxygen into your mitochondria. Drink, hydrate yourself. Go to a [00:32:00] lower altitude. those are all very important things. But again, if you are getting ill, why not oxygenate yourself on a cellular level and give the cells the things that they need to eat?
Jeffrey Feldberg: Yeah. And so at, the risk of oversimplifying things, is it Jeffrey on base, Jeffrey off base? For the benefit of Deep Wealth Nation, really what I hear you say is we go to the basic level, Mitochondria, Deep Wealth Nation, these are like the little batteries inside of us. This is what powers us.
This is, like you said, Teresa, our energy source. But today's environment, no one's fault, it's the terrain, it's the world we live in, it's polluted, and we're not getting enough, and we're not in the fields or in the forests. We're cooped up in these buildings or homes that we're really depriving ourselves.
You've come up with a way, not as a replacement for all that, because that- that's healthy and it'd be great to be there, but it's something that we can do despite what we're doing, [00:33:00] where we can drink this special water, highly oxygenated, and that oxygen through the water, if I'm understanding you correctly, it's being delivered to the mitochondria, to my body, and the body is smart.
It knows where to send it and what to absorb, that it's absorbing that to bring my mitoch- my mitochondria, my organs, my body back to health when I didn't even know perhaps that I was going way off the rails here and trouble ahead. How am I doing with that?
Teresa Reile: That's pretty darn good.
Krebs Cycle Explained
Teresa Reile: Let me just a little bit more. There's what's called the Krebs cycle in your mitochondria, which is an eight-step cycle. And if I'm being redundant and your audience knows this already, please tell me, but there's an eight-step cycle called the Krebs cycle, and it's kind of, I liken it to an eight-cylinder car.
If your car is running on all eight cylinders, it's gonna go down the road, it's gonna run great. But as one of the cylinders goes out, it's not so good. Another one goes out, another one goes out, and when it's [00:34:00] down to four cylinders on an eight-cylinder car, you're like, "Oh, my God, I better bring it into the shop 'cause something's wrong."
My car's not going down the road like it needs to. It's all clunky, right? That's the same with your mitochondria. If it's down to like, four steps in that Krebs cycle, your body cannot create enough energy to keep you healthy and robust. So the mitochondria also need spark.
Just like a car, you need a spark and you need gas. Oxygen is the food for the mitochondria, and w- this water has an electronic signature, which is the spark for the mitochondria. So it's just like the car. If you have the spark and no gas, it's not gonna go. If you have the gas and no spark, it's not gonna start.
It's the same.
Bioavailable Oxygen Boost
Teresa Reile: So what another very cool thing about this water is that it's, it has four times the pressure than the partial pressure of oxygen than what's in your [00:35:00] body. Let's say that your body this isn't correct, but let's say your body has 100 PO2, partial pressure of oxygen. This water has three to four times that, okay?
So there's pressure in the atmosphere, there's pressure in your body that keeps you somewhat at equilibrium with the atmosphere so you don't explode or implode, right? But when you drink this, the pressure which is three to four times what's in the body, pushes the oxygen and the electronic signature right into the body immediately so it's bioavailable immediately in the body.
So that's what's different, and that's what's really exciting about this product, is that it's bioavailable and it's... and y- people say they can feel this energy. Some feel it right away, okay? When I was sick, I didn't feel it for a couple weeks, but now it's like I'm in a [00:36:00] Ferrari at a red light.
That's what it feels like. You're, like, revved up on the inside, and it's like, "What am I gonna get done today? Where can I go? What am I gonna do?" it's really amazing. I love it. I drink it every day. I will never stop drinking it.
Jeffrey Feldberg: I absolutely hear you on that. And again, Teresa, at the risk of oversimplifying, when I speak to the health experts, I always walk away, the more I learn, the more I realize I don't know what I don't know. But at the same time, what I've also come to respect is the body itself, and would love your thoughts on this.
The body on its own is incredibly intelligent. When we give the body what it needs, we don't have to understand it. To, to use your Ferrari example, I don't understand how my car works. I just hop in my car, I push a button, the engine starts, and I drive. I don't understand how it starts, how the engine works.
I just know that as long as I take care of it, the car's gonna work. It's the same thing with our body and through what we're doing with your oxygenated water. And there's all kinds of other strategies. It's-- This is just the tip of the iceberg, [00:37:00] but we're getting the body, in part, what it needs so it can begin the process of healing itself, restoring itself back to its, I'll use the word homeostasis, or back to its natural set point where, hey, I have what I need.
I can get things back to normal again, and it's prevention. It's keeping you out of trouble, or it's reversing some health symptoms or some health issues that may have come along in the interim. How am I doing with that?
Teresa Reile: Pretty darn good. And I'm not gonna say that this is the panacea for everything, 'cause everyone is different. But this is so important. It's so important.
Minerals Parasites Plastics
Teresa Reile: Like I've been doing a lot of studying about minerals and things, and what I've also found is that copper is so important.
You need copper to absorb oxygen. How many people have even heard that? Not many, like so many people will say, "Oh, I'm anemic," or, "I'm deficient in iron." And when you do a more of a deep dive, actually what you're deficient in might be [00:38:00] copper. And I like to tell this story. There was a girl a friend of mine from Switzerland who was very anemic.
And so in Switzerland, they injected her with high doses of iron,
and She went crazy. She went psychotic, like literally and she didn't know what was wrong with her. She said, "I felt like something was inside of me telling me to do these crazy things. It was horrible." So she started on the oxygen baths, and about two weeks later, a seven-foot long, very thick parasite came out of her that she literally had to pull out.
So what I'm saying is that the parasite was eating the iron, and when they injected her with high doses of iron, that parasite just went to town and grew so big. And I've been reading, there are parasites that actually make you go [00:39:00] nuts when they're like that. So what she found out later, she was deficient in copper, not the iron.
The parasites were eating all of the iron out of her blood, making her seem anemic. So it's just a fascinating, interesting like study into all of this. But again, the body needs copper to absorb the oxygen. It's very interesting.
I posted a study about the one question I ask everybody is, how many people do you know who have died from microplastics?
The study that I published on my website references five other studies that show that there's 55% more microplastics in glass than in plastic.
So we did a deep dive into this whole thing, and we use BPA-free, PETE plastic, double-bonded, plastic. Where you get the most microplastics is from recycled plastic. We do not use recycled plastic. And people don't [00:40:00] even know it, but the most plastic that they get in their body is from their tires on their car. Never heard that. It's crazy. Our water, every 14 days that you drink it, it cleans out the interstitial fluid of your body.
Jeffrey Feldberg: You're right, maybe I have too little copper, or maybe I've been taking too much zinc. It's flu season, and that zinc's been throwing off my copper, or who knows what it is.
But everything in the body is intertwined with each other. It's one big orchestra, and it needs to be in harmony. Otherwise, that's when things begin to not really work out or go the way that we want it to go. So you're bringing up some in- incredible points. And Deep Wealth Nation, really the big takeaway here is when the body has what it needs, it can do what it needs to do.
But in order to do that, find the right person or health team that can help you with that, that understands perhaps from a holistic side, "Okay, let's take a look. Interesting, you got these levels over here. What's causing that?" It's not this, [00:41:00] it's not this." "Oh, actually, it's that." And to your point, maybe it's a parasite.
Maybe it's not enough copper. Teresa, it could be any number of things. It's not always a quick and simple fix. As much as we'd like it to be, it's usually not as simple as that. It can be more involved with that. My goodness.
One Health Strategy
Jeffrey Feldberg: Let me ask you this, Teresa. We're not going into wrap-up mode. We'll get there shortly.
We've just begun to scratch the surface. This is the tip of the iceberg in terms of your story and, and what you've done. From your perspective, someone in Deep Wealth Nation, if they could do one thing, one strategy for themselves, for their health... And it's really an unfair question. There's many things I'm sure you'd love to share.
But if you had to pick one health strategy that could really make a difference, what would that be?
Teresa Reile: I would have them look into the subject of hypoxia.
I didn't even know that it existed until I stumbled upon this, it is a wealth of information. It's so interesting, [00:42:00] and really honestly, if you can handle hypoxia, it's really half the battle won. And that's what I would say. Look into it
Jeffrey Feldberg: Absolutely. And Deep Wealth Nation, you're hearing someone from the trenches. This is not theory. Teresa's been there. She's done that. Sadly, she went on a health journey that she would not wish on any of us, but she did it, thankfully got through it, and is sharing what helped her, how it could help you.
And so Teresa, that said, we are gonna go into rapid mode. My goodness, so many questions I haven't had a chance to ask. But let me ask you this one question as we begin to wrap things up.
Back To The Future Wisdom
Jeffrey Feldberg: It's tradition here on the Deep Wealth Podcast, it's really my privilege, my honor, to ask each guest the same question.
It's a fun question. Let me set this up for you. When you think of the movie Back to the Future, you have that magical DeLorean car that will take you to any point in time. So this is the fun part, Teresa. Tomorrow morning, you look outside your window, [00:43:00] not only is the DeLorean car curbside, the door is open waiting for you to hop on in, which you do.
You're now gonna go to any point in time. Teresa, as a young child, a teenager, whatever point in time it would be, what would you tell your younger self in terms of life lessons or life wisdom or, hey, Teresa, do this, but don't do that? What would it sound like?
Teresa Reile: I would say The most important thing in life doesn't revolve around money, it revolves around goals and overcoming the obstacles to the goals, because that is what makes it fun. And if I could go back to the point in time, I wish I could go back to when my children were little, and I would teach them what I know today, and I would spend a lot more time with them if I could, and just helping them reach their goals and setting new ones when they reach them.
Because the time goes by so [00:44:00] quickly with your children,
and especially as a mother like, during the time when they were little, I was sick a lot of the time, and I, wish that I had more time with them to be... have more quality time with them and teach them it's not about chasing the dollar, it's about chasing your dream.
Go with purpose
Jeffrey Feldberg: I love that. It's not about chasing the dollar, it's about chasing the dream and go with purpose. Such sage advice.
How To Reach Teresa
Jeffrey Feldberg: And Teresa, someone in Deep Wealth Nation, my goodness, they can reach out for so many reasons. They want you to speak to their company or maybe give a keynote, maybe even some one-on-one with them, or they want to learn more about your spa or your water or on the health side, some of the things that you're doing.
Where would be the best place online to reach you?
Teresa Reile: They can go to patriox.us, that's P-A-T-R-I-O-X dot U-S, and they can call the number there, which is [00:45:00] 833-414-0202. 833-414-0202. And I try to call every single person back that reaches out to me because... And at some point, hopefully I won't be able to do it because we're so inundated with orders, but I try to at this stage of the game because I want to help as many people as possible.
And if I could speak in front of someone's company or do a keynote, I would love to do that. it's my mission to educate people about this very, very important and fascinating subject. So thank you
Jeffrey Feldberg: And Deep Wealth Nation, take Teresa up on her offer. My goodness, give her a call. All the information is in the show notes. We're speaking about a fellow founder, a post-exit entrepreneur and author, someone who is leading the charge on the health side. Why not? You'll come out of that call a whole lot better than when you came into it.
Well, Teresa, it's official. [00:46:00] Congratulations. This is a wrap. As we love to say here at Deep Wealth, may you continue to thrive and prosper while you remain healthy and safe. Thank you so much
Teresa Reile: Thanks, Jeffrey. It was my pleasure

What happens when the life you worked so hard to build suddenly forces you to confront whether you will be around long enough to enjoy it?
Teresa Reile has spent decades building businesses, leading organizations, and turning ideas into action across more than 50 ventures spanning public relations, renewable energy, wellness, technology, and other industries. She has also taken her ideas to the TEDx stage and audiences around the world.
She tells that deeply personal story in her book, From Tumor to Triumph: My Oxygen Awakening, exploring illness, resilience, self-advocacy, transformation, and what can happen when someone refuses to accept that the first answer is necessarily the final answer.
Teresa's story raises a question every high achiever eventually has to face:
What is the value of building an extraordinary business if the person building it is quietly running out of capacity?
